dms5686 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 With Lanarkshire Fed now having 2 geraldy transporters it means there is now a lot of geraldy transporters at our disposal in the west of Scotland I think all the feds who fly in the west section of national racing should get together and make plans to all fly together in races over 200mls I think if fanciers realy wanted it it would be possible to have it in place for 2014 season it would be more economical and safer for the pigeons coming through in a bigger group Another possibility with the debate of wether west or east route is best would be to have transporters going down both routes so the people who want to fly west can fly west the people who want to fly east can fly east and the guys who would like 2 races every wknd can fly both routes

Will it ever happen?

greenlands Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Derwent Valley and West Cumbria done the same (Two Fed Amal)has it's good points and bad,in my opinion, mostly good and saved a lot of money.
KMCK Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 I fly in the Ayrshire fed and I would be keen on this idea makes more sense whay do all the transporters go down the road with 1000 birds on it when we can have a convoy with 4000 or 5000 birds saves fuel cost and wear and tear of all transporters JMO
geordie1234 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Would like the idea of us going altogether but not the separate routes
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Would like the idea of us going altogether but not the separate routesagree

blue pied Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Would like the idea of us going altogether but not the separate routessame here!
bibendium Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 wasnt there a Strathclyde Amal before??
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 wasnt there a Strathclyde Amal before??Yes, 1996-1998
Guest bigda Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Any idea why it folded Gareth? yes, the national seen there was money to be had in the inland races
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Any idea why it folded Gareth?Believe that some feds couldn't agree transportation costs.
VMS Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Don't really see the difference to what your federations already provide here unless it was a long distance race but then you are competing against the national clubs which will always win
bibendium Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 IMO this would be good, one problem would be, some feds In stathclyde area fly under SHU rules others RPRA, a lot of sorting out would be required
sammy Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Believe that some feds couldn't agree transportation costs. beleive that some feds DIDNT like the idea of LANARKSHIRE running and organising it and quite sure that there is money some were tied up in it IH is the man to ask

sammy Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 And why should Lanarkshire organize and run it, surly all feds involved should have an equal say in what happens. no other fed was prepared to take the lead that was why lanarkshire got left with it then the scaremungers got a grip of it and said lanarkshire were running it to suite themselves ,thus that is why it ended
hotrod Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 beleive that some feds DIDNT like the idea of LANARKSHIRE running and organising it and quite sure that there is money some were tied up in it IH is the man to askI believe that was the problem sammy ,as Lanarkshire was the biggest fed they had the say and it was like it or lump it ,and I've heard that from guys that took part in meetings etc .
sammy Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 I believe that was the problem sammy ,as Lanarkshire was the biggest fed they had the say and it was like it or lump it ,and I've heard that from guys that took part in meetings etc . think its all in the past now stuart and should be left ,lanarkshire has a new committee to take it forward and am quite sure they are capable of geting round the table with other feds for cutting transport costs so lets hope that this strathclyde amal takes of again
geordie1234 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Would love to compete in something like this
gulkie Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Sooner rather than later it will happen and it will be the only way to fly our birdsI flew in it 96 to 98 and thought it was. A great way to fly pigeons.some day soonI hope sence will prevale .
