at 4 ish i was on fone to davy will djw and a bird came over the house and flew round the woods and landed on the gable of a house up the road it was still there at dark so will have the racers out first thing in morning and hopefully it comes down if its mine , this is the 2nd day since they been gone and only a few have flown out around here and not for a good few years , anything returning on its own will be a bonus but would like to find out where they are

Rab, is there no chance that this could have been done by local boys and there is a possibility they are still in the area? By this I mean teenagers from the area between you and the canal.

I know when we have had livestock stolen in the past they have been pretty local.

my youngest daughter has been asking around the local young ones but most hardly seem to know what a pigeon is far less steal one , im beginging to think the small cock i got yesterday and the small latebred of sammys have been discarded as they are very small but strange none of the others come back but there much bigger and mature pigeons and good lookers . Time will tell though its a waiting game for somthing to surface now feels like bloody week gone by and not days to me now

Thats the quandry Robert the hens were in the section next door but the door opens the reverse of the cocks door and they have bent all the hinges so i reckon it could have been dark when they have done this . if daylight you would see the bolt and hinges on opposite side . Also if it was dark they might not have know what they took plus i have only just seperated them a few weeks backs as they had the full run of the loft previous .On the other hand the old pannier they took im not sure if it would have been visisble if dark against the small garden shed but if i left at 2,30 they would only have had till about 3.50 till almost dark here , then again could be someone or ones thats been here before and know the pannier lays there . Dont know what to think now would burst your head thinking about it

ye wouldnt have got a boiling for soup stock oot the 2 wee yins that turned up , have had the racers out every day just incase somthing turns up in the vicinity , but when i went up to feed them a 2pm bloody sparr hen was munching on a 2 yr old chq cock , well chewed up but should survive . 3 or 4 birds have nighted out as were still flying till dark and wouldnt land . think i will just keep the racers in again now as to risky sitting out all day for birds that might not return anyway

hi mate when i had my birds stolen i let the rpra know and they put the ring numbers onto a stolen bird regester and if anyone tries to regester these birds then you will be informed.obviously the thieves will not try something like this but the birds might be sold to some fancier who doesnt know they were stolen.as for local kids i very much doubt it.i asked my kids to ask around but as all us pigeon fanciers know the younger generation are just not interested in pigeons.
