naedoos Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 No probs Brian, just with your quote "to say the least" thought you maybe thinkin the bird shouldn't have won that's all. As I mentioned earlier, looked a good winner to me & a real racer into the bargain Hopefuly se you at Fauldhouse next week
b.massey Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 Yeah was a nice bird, his blue cock that won the winner class was a cracking cock. No question kevin has crackers. As I said someone asked who it was and I was only saying who the 2 were. I am at lawhill next week mate

airdrie2 Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 should never happen , because it will allways be said it won because his dad judged it whiter it was the best doo or not and as tiger said it was wrong of kevin to put his dad in this position

dava Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 Are you saying then that the winner didn't deserve the win then Brian? Bearing in mind that the same exhibitor had another two firsts from different judges. Looked a crackin doo to me, just wished I'd asked to handle it when I got the chance cant beleive the father and son put there selfs in that position whether the winner deserved it or not they have only left there self open to major critisisim which was crazy for them both but they must be thicked skinned??
VMS Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 cant beleive the father and son put there selfs in that position wether the winner deserved it or not they have only left there self open to major critisisim which was crazy for them both but they must be thicked skinnedJoe knows Kevins pigeons as he regularly makes reference to this in his collum, total embarasment to the SHU and really does make a complete mockery of the class and the whole show IMO.

abbeypap Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 This is the first pigeon show other than local club shows I have been to since Dam Park in Ayr in the early 1980's. Great venue, good food and some very nice pigeons. 1st show for SHU and good job done, next time it will be better because even societies learn from mistakes or "should have done, could have done" comments. Met a few PB members mostly asking where the members were meeting as I didn't know I pointed them all to the bar I was surprised to find out exhibitors couldn't leave before 4pm but after it was discovered a pigeon was missing from the pens I can understand why. Hope the guy has had a call this morning from whoever took it in error. We don't get to exit Crufts before 4pm but we have to queue for an hour or more sometimes to get out the car park, so you weren't to bad. Spoke to a few fanciers who have had to give up pigeons due to pigeon lung, so it was great seeing the research team there talking to folk and doing tests. I certainly learned somethings I didn't know from talking to the team. Would be great to be there again next year ps enjoyed my walk round the pens, some very nice pigeons and I got the chance to handle some as well. Thanks.

abbeypap Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 What did you learn about pfl m8? Nothing more than you can read on the internet (just visited pigeon-lung.co.uk) but it was easier to actually speak to someone face to face and of course the fanciers who were there and have had to give up keeping pigeons. I never liked wearing the masks, but totally changed my opinion now, I'll persevere it's usually only for short periods of time while in the loft anyway. If it's against any kind of show rule to show under family members or breeder of pigeon can't the award be withdrawn and other pigeons placed in the class moved up in there placings?
plumber Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 what does the term dipped mean? I dont know what it means either! What does "dipped " mean?
harky Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 A thaught the winner of class 2 had a dipped look about it .lol
dawdoo Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 Joe knows Kevins pigeons as he regularly makes reference to this in his collum, total embarasment to the SHU and really does make a complete mockery of the class and the whole show IMO. definately a bad mistake from the SHU and also joe and kevin, hopefully lessons will be learned!!!but i believe in starts so no need to have a go at the SHU VMS!
