andy Burgess Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 i have read about the "xmas race" for a few years whilst down in Wales ,and now i am in the area to compete .to be flown from Morpeth on Saturday 15th of December .i have stuck my kneck out and sent the application in and hope to enter 4 birds .poor weather and returns are the order of the day i understand ,but i am going to try my best .any "wishes of luck" gratefully accepted ,i (and the birds) will need it.

andy Burgess Posted November 15, 2012 Author Report Posted November 15, 2012 good luck to the birds :animatedpigeons:cheers , will let them know Be interesting to read your progress to the build up to the race, and hopefully you bag the pothave been in 2 minds about it Wiley ,wanted to try last year ,but chickened out .have had some tips ....... but not in a position to follow them through .so its a wing and a prayer method .candidates not been out for a good few weeks .hope to get them out on Sunday for a bath .will then look at a routine ,dependant on weather etc.

AW THE BESThoping to loft fly them as much as is possible ,daily in most weathers and temperatures with the exceptions of fog or heavy rain .if i notice there condition going down ,may regulate that. "feathery legs" is rung 2010 wasnt raced till this year ,trained and raced like a "latebred" ,and along with some late breds that will be them .again possibly not as standard ,but we will see??
