Lost more youngsters flying only 83miles so far down east than we did when we flew programme down west last year. Started with about 36 and sent 15 last night and stopped about 9 thats been racing so 24/36 so far. Last season only lost about 6-7 down west. I have no problems either side HOWEVER I feel a major problem when in the Durham area (There today THIRSK) Birds seem to loose homing ability when libbed in area and takes longer to get them home. Thats my theory anyways. Think there is an air base in there that sends signals that scamper the minds of the pigeons. Hope today is better but when we went to THIRSK as a come back race with old birds was a nightmare race with FED 20 pos taking 1hr 37 mins to fill. Winner done 3hrs 48mins and still on fed sheet almost 5 hours on wing after

imo we should give the west route 3 to 4 four years and let the pigeons get used to it there just as many peregrines on the east route ive finished with more old birds this year than any since the last time we went west ;)

Well after today's race I just can't see why Lanarkshire would want to go back east !! If anything by pass longtown and I will be voting west :animatedpigeons:

Got to agree, im just glad Homer49's EGM letter to change back to the east got binned, it has gave everyone a chance to get a true reflection on what racing with young birds down the west could be like, (BLOODY MARVELOUS)

Lets hope the final race at Charnock Richard continues in the same fashion as the previous 5 Lanarkshire races.

Unfortunately due to a rule that gets abused, no Uttoxeter, this due to having to return to the previous weeks race because of weather.

Looking to organise a race from Stafford the week before the Young bird national this for Lanarkshire and west of Scotland fanciers, too many fanciers over the last few years have had to send there doos with other feds as trainers, this will allow them to have a race with them as well. Nothing set in stone as yet, will work on it this week.

Why dont you ask Bonnybridge for a shot of their transporter to go to Uttoxeter??? It takes 400 birds.

Do you think you would have these returns if you had your full team to race with??

I think I would have done very well , cannae believe the doos I lost from the bad toss. The fact is, im racing 3 later bred birds and 7 older ones that were at toss and getting them when others in same race are getting hammered. The losses on the east have been horrendous to most this year but not for me.Not bragging, just stating facts m8.

I dont think it makes any difference East or West there will always be losses and there will always be bad races.

Who was the fed at the same racepoint as lanarkshire at the weekend? I got told they went first and got slaughtered ???

Midland at Appleby great race, Solway at Charnock and the clocks there were only 50% returns

Lanarkshire were the only org at Ingleton. As far as i know Lanarkshire were the first to liberate.
