i will agree there has been a fair few doos lost this year. but IMO you cant blaim the route. the weather and bad judgement calls this year have more to do with the losses than east vs west

personalloy our loft lost more doos down the east last year than this year up to know. we will be voteing west if theres a EGM

there have been fanciers from other feds on this thread who fly the east route who have had hard racing also but i have yet to see any of the pro east lobby give an opinion on these losses, wat happens if we go east and suffer losses do we call another e g m to change the route again

I think Lanarkshire should finish what they started, go down the west with the ybs and then decide whats best.

yes Del in a way i do agree with that , they have started so lets see it through and see the outcome .

as an outsider lookin in u and the other people involved are a disgrace to your fed because they are not topping the fed as much as theyd like 2 every fed in scotland are loosin birds what happens if u go east and get thumped again u haVE a meeting every year and the vote was for west so imo u should go with it :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

your opinion is biased :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: and your statment dosent hold water as looking at the results i see the wee macs are still at the top of the pile most weeks east or west , was the west no supposed to fk them up way no adavantage :emoticon-0123-party::emoticon-0123-party:

THE OTHER SIDE OF IT IS IF THEY INTEND GOING DOWN THE EAST NEXT YEAR WITH OBS, THEN THE YBS WOULD FAIR BETTER AS YEARLINGS FLYING THE EAST ROUTE.

When we get good racing down the west with the young birds this year, then there will be a bigger majority of members voting to go back down the west at the 2013 AGM.

You might be right, im just looking at both sides of the coin.As you know Gareth, there are 2 sides to everything lol.It makes no odds to me where you go

:emoticon-0137-clapping: Good for you Derek, and as you know I'm the most neutral person I know :emoticon-0136-giggle: east, west, north or south I will race my doos whatever the democratic vote of the Lanarkshire members decide.

But one thing I cannot go is fanciers( who are selfish) and will not abide by what there fellow members have voted for at the appropriate federation AGM.

Looking from the outside I agree with Gareth it is outrageous to try to change an AGM decision half way through the season. From experience if you change your route it will take even experienced birds time to adjust and I`m not surprised at your losses this year although the weather has played a large part in it as the east side fanciers will testify. You should give it at least 3 years and see how it is going after that

i don’t think its outrageous to try and change a AGM decision if there are extraordinary reasons for it

Is that not what a egm is or ?

through i don’t think there is any reason or this one.

the best option is to bung the weather man a few quid and see if he can sort some decent Saturday weather

They should stay down the west coast for the ybs and then decided what to do next year!

To be honest i am not too fussed what happens with what route the fed members decide to go but i have said from before the old bird racing started that my young birds wont be going west and i will stand by that but let's hope whatever happens we get good returns with the yb's but i will suit myself as to what i do with training my young birds just as i always do

Good luck to everyone with their young birds this year let's hope we all get good returns :animatedpigeons:

hi alex

how come there no other fed calling a egm to change there route? and how did your first five races go way lanarkshire . were they going to well for you alex. as the racing the lenth and bridth of britian has all been the same.do you no take in the east winds and the bad weather that has a lot to do with the racing this year or is it just ANTI WEST with you.when you and the other fancers go with the other feds and then you jump in for open races the birds dont no if they are coming or gone as they have raced the other side east of the contry.

as an outsider" looking in" fae fife ,we have had some bad races too.

I said 5 years ago that the "localised" weather was as much a threat too doo racing as the hawks,,,,,folk laughed at me.

This year has more east winds back to back than i can ever remember....normaly its 3 then wind changes.

Dont know the answer but I have never thought changing racepoints/routes are the answer.....JMO

three click on you head with this walking stick and you will be down south supporting your team because there is no room up here any more unless you go to the back of johnstone bridge car park there is a nice wee park of emerald green.

Ye know , its a very funny thing. Not one person has blamed the race controller this year on the west route. He got plenty of stick on the east route.I said this to Jim Hannah, the west is best for a controller because if its a bad race the controller never gets the blame. Its the route or the hawks or the weather. It seems to me its the best route to be a controller, lol ye never are wrong. That in itself tells you how bad the route is jmo
