sapper756 Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 How many PB members have actually experienced/witnessed a BOP striking their birds, or another fanciers birds, so far in 2012? I myself to date have experienced 2 strikes, which resulted in 1 killhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/cry-blow.gif 1 near miss, and I also have 1 yearling missing, assumed deadhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/cry-blow.gifhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/cry-blow.gif

THE FIFER Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 yesterday saw 2 crows flash over me to the next garden, looked over in time to see them attack a BOP on one of my birds which got away unharmed, the crows kept after the bop, so good on the crows so far,

Fly_caster Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 SH has been twice in the space of a week. Percy was a daily visitor last week - twice a day sometimes - the Cock mostly and without success. watched him a few days and he was just warming the birds up for me before serious training begins ! They are a part of the furniture around here, we just ignore most of the time because to take any notice would drive you insane. Cheers, Steve
Jumbo Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 3 strikes so far but no losses but just lucky we were on hand when the strike happened

Leroy Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 One strike resulting in kill. Female sparrow hawk.
mushroom Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Monday 1 hen killed by S/H I then let the cocks out when 2 PF came over looking at them but, they both moved away and went through a team of trainers, scattering them. Thursday S/H grabbed one of the hens but the dog scared it off, Today cock PF coursed my early bred ybs scattering them but caught nothing, I travel 12 miles to my loft every day 365 days a year and I am feeling that I am just doing it to feed this constant menace. These attacks destroy the confidence of the birds and they will not exercise properly as they are always on pins. Believe it or not when I first let my early bred ybs out within 15 minutes a juvenile Buzzard chased one of my ybs and caught it as it hit the ground,I have lost count of the number of attacks my birds have had to endure, I am going to see the season out and will decide wether to carry on or not.
