The sport is dying on it,s feet, and yet we regularly hear about fanciers being unable to source a club to fly their birds, it does not make sense to mehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

just reading the bhw letters page find it strange that no club will take them ?

there is a lot more to this than the letter youve read John . :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: i often remember a saying from an old friend "dont forget there are always 3 sides to a story"

Option one is try to join local clubs option two is form your own club and invite local fanciers ;) those that want competition will join them ;)

I can safely say our club has never refused anyone within our boundary , no club can turn down members these days and on occasions we've opened up our boundary to let members in , my motto is more the merrier ;) the better the competition the better the club and better fed results ;)

i would vote them out 2 they caused lot of trouble in fed and bad mouthed members in trapain so as they say made round 2 go round jmo

There are people about I,m afraid like this we have them in our area and I,m sorry but there is no way that they would be allowed in our club,we took pity on someone similar that had a reputation for upsetting clubs before into the club,he only lasted a couple of months.

I did see their letter in BHW last week, and athough I don't know the case, IMO they are barking up the wrong tree trying to bring 'Lottery funding' into their refusal of membership in clubs.

Yes club membership may be open to all - but no-one can force club members to associate with people they don't want to. The other issue is some expect Unions to force membership on clubs. If this forced the club to give membership to a known troublemaker, I don't think the club would survive too long.

Within limits I sadly say - though never have voted as such - that there are times when the club is better off not voting them in!

Cruelty to birds, cheating etc.

AND some are a havoc waiting to happen. Some - I know - bad mouth and call other members rotten, and are two faced enough to talk pleasantries to the very same people. Some are just 'Stirrers' and ... etc. etc.

have been in club where 'Cheats' have flown, some voteed in after, and these very same ones I've known to oppose any and every new member...

If a club gets lottery funding it has to accept people if they like them or not and it also means you have no boundarys i think thats for 5 years if they cause trouble within the club or there motive is to bring about the collapse of the club there is rules in place to deal with that.
