wings Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Hi i have noticed in my stock loft that one of the pigeons tumbles over if it is in a rush, say for instance i pick it up and place it in its box it falls over like it doesn't know were its feet are then when it calms down it walks around pretty much ok. has anybody got any ideas the other birds in the loft seem fine.
blackdog Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 think you need to get to the vet m8, pigeons tumbling down and wet droppings, better safe than sorry
greenlands Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Without looking for anything sinister I would suggest lack of calcium, try half a calcium tablet,or syringe 20ml or so of milk into it's crop.Put calcium into search bar, there will be some info there.Lindsay
wings Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 Can any vet check pigeons out? thanks Lindsay i will try the calcium while i look for a vet.

Wiley Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Too many things matching up mate wet droppings and pigeon tumbling over I'd be down the vets in the morning for a proper analysis

THE FIFER Posted January 27, 2012 Report Posted January 27, 2012 try calcium, m8, if its just its legs giving way, if the head is twisting could be more serious,
Tony C Posted January 28, 2012 Report Posted January 28, 2012 Have seen a pigeon act similar to this, it contacted PMV as a youngster and survived but as an old bird every time he drove he's hen hard its neck started to contort and balance was a problem.
OLDYELLOW Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 He's sorted it , first problem was he was removing grit and therefore the strain on feeding was causing the old bird to be calcium deficient , this in turn made the young birds they were feeding wet feeders , so a simple change of events the old birds weren't getting the nutrients for them to do well and all the goodness was been tried to pump up the young birds , I told him to give a few things and I promised his droppings would be like marbles and they were the very next day and all birds returned back to normal
