I canny believe am gan tae say but the longest flier from the race point gets time in hand dependant on the speed of the race compared to his measurement from a shorter flier?

Why would you want your birds to overfly your loft? If I measure 30 miles to the racepoint and everyone else measures 40 miles, I don't want my birds overflying my loft, I want them straight in and leave the others to fly the extra 10 miles. Now ten miles might not seem a lot, but when we reach the 300 miles and further, that ten miles is a lot to a tired bird, so I am ten miles better off.

If I am going to win a race, I am not going to do it with a bird that is following some other bird, because that bird my bird is following will win the race.

Let's not beat about the bush, pigeon racing will never be fair. It is too dependant on too many outside factors. We just need to get on with it and hope that one day the factors will suit us and our bird will be the one to excel.

No sure ye have quite got the idea Andy! The fella is complainin that in shorter races he feels that he is givin too much time compared to the longest fliers. A very common gurn especially in sprint racin but on the other hand there are others that complain that they canny beat the shortest flier cos he gets first drop????

 

If yeboah hudny got his appendix removed i am sure he would gave explained it better as we fly together and he is 20miles north of me???

I understand overfly. Was just being a bit fascetious, however, if your bird is not following others and you get a fast trap, even in the sprints, you have won the race. Never done it yet myself, but it will come.

TIME AND DISTANCE FROM A. TO B.BUT SURLY SHORTER FLIERS LOSE OUT AT TIME LOST AT LIBRERATION. WHEN LIBERATION FAIL TO CLEAR AS MOST TIME IS LOST AT START OF RACE.

then everyone is in same boat then ;)

i,ve always said that its an unfair way of doing it. Reason being, for the further flying birds MUST maintain the same speed as the first dropped bird. In the nationals especially, the bird that is flying 500 miles must maintain the same speed as the pigeon doing 400 miles, to stand a chance. Not a clue what the answer is, so will just stick with the way it is lol

IF THE BIRD'S DONT CLEAR FOR SOME REASON FOR SAY 10MIN = ADVANTAGE THE FURTHEST FLYER, IF THE CONVOYER MAKES A MISTAKE AND PUT'S THEM UP A TOUCH EARLY = ADVANTAGE THE SHORTEST FLYER .. FACT :animatedpigeons:

Depends on Wind directions and any alterations after shortest flyers.

Personally the sooner in the better and less chance of anything untowards happening.

It is from A to B after all.

Think tis why many move loft locations.... many new clubs formed as some make excuses in search of being a 'Winner'. No level playing field outside of 'No Wind'... Then of courser the longer they fly, more the handicap eh!

were all measured fae a to b no such thing as overlfy we work on velocity speed x distance no 2 measurments from a race are the same distance , unless booth flying to same lofts highest vel wins , ye get ones complain all the time a only get 2 miles fae or he gets 5 miles fae me , thats because one is 2 miles less than you and the other is 5 miles further whn measured from a to b simmpplleess

 

although we are measured a to b some birds take a longer route

depending on the conditions and terrain

How about the fanciers that can't fly A to B because of the terrain and end up flying A to C to B.

Like the fanciers in West Cumbria.

OVERFLY MAY- BE SHOULD BE WORKED FROM A LOCAL BREAKING POINT.

I believe there are only two regions in the RPRA that are allowed to fly off such a measurement.

Them being Cumbria and the other Cornwall.

North road would be a great option apart from probable clashing with the Scottish birds.
