dal2 Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 am sure after the foot and mouth they refused to allow pigeon liberation's to take place can you tell me is there a bt line run right across the water where the birds would be liberated? Not 100% Frank. There is a large pond/lake in front of the mart and there are some pylons right enuff! The Mart is across the lake from 14MU military base. There was libs frae there this year tho?
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 they will be scrambling for other feds to go with them to cut costs but you are correct they will all be in ypres Is that such a bad thing Frank, inland races surely must be better if the pigeons are coming into the same part of the country, this has.benefits for the SNFC big races from the channel. Time for all feds to be going themselves or with local amals to inland racing. We've seen what's happen to the gold cup race because of the Inland Nationals.
frank-123 Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 the cattle market i believe is on the top left of the picture as you can see the pylon's run right in front of the lib site when i used to work there was a bt telegraph pole just in front on the water that could also hinder the birds

K J Young Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Nobody mentioned starting on the 14th, start on the same week as lanarkshire at a shorter racepoint then tie up the following week . It will no matter anyway because I,ll be surprised if ballochmyle go west . There is plenty wrong with the start date it is too early and too cold.I for one would not be entering a race with Ayrshire on the 14th meaning training even before that.No distance fancier worth his salt would contemplate racing in temperatures struggling to reach 10 degrees.Yes there will be losses either route

Gareth if the other feds stay over in the east lanarkshire will lose a fortune in transport costs the birdage might cover the drivers wages though as for amal's everyone is for them but no one will do the work pie in the sky
lanarkshire lad Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 HiLancaster has to be the worst lib site in theUK apart from the Durham tryangleBirds have no chance as they hit the Shapto quickly CheersHomer 49Homer Lancaster was good race for lanarkshire in years gone bye before the explosion of the BOPS.The shap didnae bother the doos then.

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 disappointed hope it goes well down the west i don't want anyone getting hammeredWe will get bad races at some point, just the same as we have had down the east. Hopefully we will get kind weather coditions in 2012 which is half the battle, added to this some special releases leading up t o the races.

If the east stays oot of the wind first two weeks of April then it should be kinder tae the yearlins?Yes agree Steven, 2008 when going west route the first 5 races were east winds and some of the members yearlings struggled whislt the 2,3 and 4 years found it no problem.
bigjamie Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 WE WILL HAVE TO SEE HOW THE BIRDS FAIR OUT OF THE WEST
b.massey Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 We flew 2011 young birds down west..... Our biggest problem was weather! Lost many sat races due to it with YB
K J Young Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 That's why ayrshire don,t want to lib with ballochmyle because it help the Killie boys ,it time the two feds were going together every week. It's also unlikely that Ayrshire will go west.East gives the coast such an advantage they will continue east
Pompey Mick Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 As Dorchester is not available you are welcome to come to Portsmouth, a similar distance but 60ml to the east of Dorchester, it is a wide open site next to the Solent with no wires in the vicinity.
