Ayrshire North Road Federation races North.

They had a good race Saturday past but a poor race the week before.

It's still hit and miss I am afraid.

its the same as us steve when it 50 milesa its nae probs this side of the pentlands or pennines but as soon as ye go to ower 60 miles intae the hills then you get some doddgy ones , yous will be the same ower the other side of the appleby hills asweel a wid think ,,

the commom denominator for losses is hills and valleys

and the bassa things thats in them valleys ,, ambushed in bandit territory , no so bad oot on the flat lands room for manouvre :scotland:

I`m in the midland fed , at longtown on sat there was a lot of birds missing at clock check but not sure if many tell the truth nowadays ! me i got hammered but don`t think it was the anyone`s fault but mine . not had a single bird back since 12.30 on sat.

alot of birds missing at clocks but birds worked in all night and morning lanarkshire going over when ours were coming so alot of them getting caught in with them our first 3 came out east with lanarkshire birds we took first 3 in club with them

Nothing *expletive removed* changes. Poor ybs sent to the slaughter imo Warned ye Colin and its not finished yet, all this because certain folk want an advantage and a red card. Same day, same weather Lanarkshire have 95% returns from a further race point. We would all like to fly down the traditional route but cant because of the BOP. I wonder how Gareth and King Billy got on for returns, how many did they send with the Midland? :emoticon-0136-giggle::emoticon-0138-thinking: I know Gareth had 54/54 with Lanarkshire

midlothian fed appleby lib 10.15 timed 12.20 had 30/47 by 13.00 then just the odd single bird dropped 11 but some members in fed had good returns as regards lanarkshire your not into the bermuda triangle yet remember what happened last year at consett but the losses seem to be happening all over the country with young birds this year

This is true, we have to get over the hump yet but at least the ybs are getting a start.I said for years at the Midland fed agm, start east and then go more west. The birds need experience and a good start. By the way, im not at all happy with any fed losing birds.Im not one of these cranks that wishes the worst on other feds

myself last week longtown I hade 53 away got 48 which I thought was good but this week the first 40 mins had over 30 home other people I have spoken too have had good returns I just hope its not the dreaded lurgy will just have to watch the young birds this week keep fingers crossed that its not

I think sometimes in the first few races alot is expected of young bird convoy's clearing the liberation area's immediately with just 30 odd miles between feds and with only 30-45 min between liberation's think it is a certainty that clashing will occur ,when my first bird arrived in moffat on Saturday at 12-02 --12-03 there were many many birds flying past in groups of 6-12 and working there way north through the hills ,now if these birds were still in the longtown area as the solway birds arrived 2500 with the main drag going to annan - dumfries area's they would then be many miles of there line of flight if caught in the drag ,we will suffer the same fate on the east route with such a small convoy maybe just 600 by the time we hit 150 mls ,jmo good luck to you all

MICK SOME ARE GOING AT THE SAME RACE POINT TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF SCOTLAND 15 MINS APART ,, I KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING YOU THINK THEY HAVE CLEARED BUT THERE UP THE ROAD A FEW MILES AWAY CIRCLING WHERE THEY CANT BE SEEN

Posted

imo the west is just as good as the east hawks on both sides and before you ask yes theyre is loses you get good races and bad races but where we stay to win a national our pigeons have got to come middle or west if ours come out east the boys east of us will beat us they also get overfly jmo how many times have the boys racing east had bad races so imo its swings and roundabouts jmo

We dont want to breed 100 ybs to be left with 20 Derek.Thats not a hobby, its running the gauntlet and a game of chance.Cruelty , imo, but, as I said before, we would all like to fly down the west, but we cant.
