JohnQuinn Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) I got a hen from Peterborough today about 4pm, swine is fresh as paint where ever its been, She certainly hasn't roughed it since Saturday. Me thinks she's been in a loft and has been liberated near my home. This hen has done well in the past But i'm inclined no to trust doos who enter another loftThat was my last bird from this race 14/14. Edited June 8, 2011 by JohnQuinn

yeboah Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 she's there for next year now mate (if you keep her!) done a wee ob to get home = guts. Only sad thing is iv never had a bird do after getting hawked. Two years ago Jimmy Dals great hen Hoddam Dynamo returned from the Newbury National minus a tail then never seen a training basket at all only being exercised with his youngsters ,and then won the Falaise National by 23yds some doo in the hands of a Master Doo Man ,although i have found personally one's that have been targeted that close go to ground very easy (cant blame them)But as stated there are always exceptions .I have six racers left one for eastbourne ,two for the gold cup with the other three with tail feathers missing from hawk strikes ,that's 50% of my team been struck just shows the seriousness of our problem that's why i never stop them now when they are going well as they will surely succumb to the hawk the following season sad state of affairs lads .
