Blue Chequer Pied Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 avg is good but just wait to you want to take it out again thats when the fun starts it will screw your system up no end :o :o Guess who will be driving all the way up from Glasgow to take it out if I ever decide to or need to take it out. It wont be me. Saying that it has been very good up to now 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. Paul.

Paul. every anti virus program alters the way your pc "talks" to the internet, when i took avg out of my spare, it buggered up the "winsock" dll [the way xp talks to the internet] now with sp 2/3 fitted i should be able to take out the winsock myself through one of the apps in windows,so on a restart it will reload with a good version, never happened ,i had to get a new install, and i had combat flight simulator 2 fitted [with extras, all 3 gb of them :o :o ]anti virus are a good thing on paper just do not take it out

I didn't follow a word of that mate. My knowledge of computers is like my knowledge of cars. I know where to put the passengers and the fuel and I could probably find out where to put the oil at a push :B :B :B :B
Guest G.Drysdale + son Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 avg for me too AVG for me three
Guest chrisss Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 and believe it or not me as well, its the best free one out there, just do not upset the thing
black badge Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I bought Norton 2009 off E-bay for £ 15.00,I have used Norton for years and never had a problem no virus or anything gets past it if its kept updated. As with everything that is free there is always a drawback as the previous posts have said, two choices really pay for it or get it free with problems.

Roland Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Had them Both.... Was also a great one advertised on here a while back.... bet I have it stored somewhere, highly recommended. I'm on Bullguard now, so go figure. Mind I used to go on Limewire etc. Torrent sites, and the Freebies were quite good enough to hack it... Don't use them sites now lol, ;D ;D ;D
