have you paired up yet or when, are your birds sitting eggs, or feeding young, or youngsters shifted, lets know how far you are and the results,

put 12 pair together on the 12th december in my back garden,8 pair layed within 13days 3pair by 19 days last pair yesterday but this was the last hen i purchased at p stobbs sale at nehu show, 2sets clear eggs but the same 2 cocks had clear eggs in there first set last year

then filled fingers crossed.

paired up boxing day, 20 pairs of racers and 13 stock pairs, 14 pairs of racers are down but only 1 stock pair,

paired up early,went down well apart from one hen that broke both legs in 2010 [might have damaged herself inside ]-swaped some eggs and set them away again and have now layed again ,will start to ring the first round tommorow.looks like the wheatgerm did the trick.We only keep a few but prefer early young .will plan for young bird breeder buyers and be able to send the best as i will have what i want already off my best pairs.worth sending to some of these as they pay out a lot ,one to look out for is wrekonton or wrekington[spelling] payed out over 4000 last year,all you need is a bit luck.

Paired up 8 pair of stock birds on the 30th December, just in from the lofts, and I have my first egg from these pairs.

 

Widowhood will be paired up on return from Blackpool

 

Naturals will be paired up Feb/March time

i paired the stock birds up early december all were sitting ive now got 30 young birds hatched witch is very supprising in the weather wev e had will pair the racers up afther blackpool !

i don't seperate so thats probably why show no inclination to get on with anything......nothing laid or looking like it...my usual start :rolleyes:

got 10 pair down on eggs .the rest will get to go down in february.lets see how many hatch with this cold weather.

well mine are hatching now, but may just throw the lot, a few disasters.
