blaz Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 welcome to the site i dont know of any pigeons being used to carry mail now .it is well worth a look at some of the stories of carrier pigeons in war time in particular the story or a carrier pigeon named CHER AMI
Wiley Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 there is a pigeon post, if it can be considered that somewhere in america, where a photographer takes photos of white water rafters, he then places the film on pigeons back and releases it, so it gets back to the gift shop, where by the time the people have finished the trip all photos have been recieved and printed and waiting for the punters to buy.

kelly tom Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 IanI remember an article in the Pictorial and the front page had a picture of the pigeon loft on the roof.If my memory serves me right the hospital was in Portsmouth and the loft was on top of the laboratory and they sent blood samples in containers on the birds back.
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 There was an article not so longer ago complaining about the broadband in South Africa - it was quicker to attach a memory stick to a pigeon and it fly a 100 mile or so - than download something from the internet and send by e-mail (or something like that)

sapper756 Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) I recall seeing on tv, some theme park ride, or white water raft ride, where a photo is taken at the start, and the film is carried by a pigeon to the end, where your picture is ready for you as you exit the ride, but can not recall wherehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif Edited October 5, 2010 by sapper756
