Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 maybe worth trying a shorter race point, say newark... 25 mile less? just a thought, leicester and cheltenham havent been very successful over the years for returns.... Young birds have far too many problems to deal with now compared to 20 years ago so i would have to agree with you Wullie, perhaps a shorter race and from over on the west would be more suitable, this would also stop the dog legging that young birds have to endure from the young bird national from Leicester in the prevailing westerly winds, this dog legging adds a hell of a time onto tired young birds flying into the west of Scotland. Race around Telford or Stafford 220 miles??? or Flatten the Pennines
Blue Tooner Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Got another 4 yesterday, 8/12 for me, well pleased. How they came in that rain yesterday is beyond me.

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 gareth do you think the fed should go west aswell or should we stay were we are we all on what is going to happen in this race in to the west it's up to the members to go and change itWe moved down the east because of the BOP problem and now we get bad racing down the east becuse of the BOP, now add to this the clashing that goes on from this side of the country and the fact that birds have to deal withthe Pennines especially once we go past the 130 mile stage so in essence we have now given our pigeons 3 probles to deal with rather than the one and hopefully the saucey flavorings that some pigeons now have will make the decission wether it be this year or next year a lot easier to make.

So do you think we should be going west then
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 So do you think we should be going west thenYes Rab providing the majority of fanciers get of their ar5es and deal with the peri problem.

Race around Telford or Stafford 220 miles??? or Flatten the Pennines Fly from wherever you like they will still come out the east, and shorter races are not the answer these boys who lead the field in the nationals were flying from 310 miles a couple of weeks ago, stop making excuses and get on with it.
