Ian McKay Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Ian F Douglas It is with a sad heart I have to report the death of a good friend and Federation member Ian F Douglas on Wednesday 28th July after a long illness.Ian flew in the Aberdeen & District R P C and was the son of the great flying legend Freddy Douglas they flew as F Douglas & Son racking up a lot of National Honours in the Scottish National Flying club which they specialised in.I first met Ian as a 14yr old boy who used to help me set clocks in the Mastrick clubIan had been fighting cancer for a few years now and had two major operations. At the age of 51 it has come as a surprise to me and all concerned. Ian was instrumental in gaining a large sponsorship deal for the Federation when we were implementing the plan to build a new transporter for the Federation. Because of this we achieved the ultimate goal which I know all members were very grateful for.My sincere condolences to his wife Sarah daughter Georgia having been married previously his daughter Jade son Tony his mum Sheila and sisters Nora & Kathleen On behalf of the members of the Aberdeen Federation of Racing pigeonsRest in peace my friendPresident Ian McKay
