sapper756 Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Listening to the news this morning, an article caught my attention, saying that numbers of BOP being poisoned in Scotland this year has reached 46http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif
sapper756 Posted July 23, 2010 Author Report Posted July 23, 2010 RSPB says bird of prey poisoning 'at 20-year high'http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/48456000/jpg/_48456274_eagle_on_caracass.jpg The report said two golden eagles were among the poisoning cases confirmed by government testing The number of rare birds being illegally poisoned in Scotland is at a 20-year high, the RSPB have claimed
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 o dear thats sad news 46 why not 50You have missed off a 0 500.
Guest Davy Fleming Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 AM GONNA GO AWAY AND CRY AT THE THOUGHT OF THIS HAPPENING AS IT'S A GREAT SHAME FOR THESE LOVELY THINGS :D :D :D :D :D
Guest Tooshy Boy Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 RSPB.I WOULD NOT BELEAVE ONE WORD THEY SAY. //TOSHY BOY.//
clayton moore Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 The RSPB can sense a groundswell against them so they dig out this old chestnut.Whats the big deal with BOP what makes them special over other birds.
OLDYELLOW Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Just the R.S.P.B keeping the lies up to keep these birds protected nothing more , but certainly wont put a dent in the bop population by a long shot
JohnQuinn Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 They are floating eggs and yb's from one area to another to maximize breeding opportunities for the Peregrine, probably other BOP's too!! The law needs to change or all the efforts will be in vain, they will simply multiply and multiply until it gets to the stage where they are struggling to survive due to lack of food. What i would like to know is, How Many is Enough for them
Guest Freebird Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Aye and they also discourage bops in certain areas i.e. estuaries etc. by cutting down nearby trees (in their wording, polarding ) I've seen the polarding all that's left is totem poles. They seem to get away with anything they want. Very clever (sneeky) organisation with plenty clowt but I feel joe public is waking up, hopefully
sammy Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 propaganda thats all it is why do they never ever show pics of these dead birds of prey ,they have to have joe public at their back and this is the only way they can do it ,tell the public alie and they will beleive it tell the truth and yir a liar
Delboy Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 If every single fancier did there bit then it wouldnt be a problem.
Fair Play Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Maybe if the sanctimonious Barstewards would get off their arzes and addressed the problem we could all live together maybe not in perfect harmony but acceptable or bearable
ribble Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Does the article state what they are being poisoned with?
fox terrier Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 A gentleman who works in the countryside with whom I was having a word said he has never seen so many raptors and told me they love Ibuprophen but it does not agree with them!!!! along with other vermin. Fox terrier
Roland Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Maybe if the sanctimonious Barstewards would get off their arzes and addressed the problem we could all live together maybe not in perfect harmony but acceptable or bearable Maybe they would still if A. Everyone did as Bilco and Co first, secondly and even now proposed / requested. If every single fancier did their' bit then it wouldnt be a problem. OH how so very true! Indeed they would be begging US to get around a table for talks! Can't for love of me understand just why the problem is still increasing ... Oh ofcourse, 98% want the shiney knight in White armour to rally and sort it out. Psst, there isn't one, never has been, and isn't it really about time he was put away with the 'Tooth Fairy'. WE all need to do our bit. NO two ways about that! So save the Rhubard juice, the Pain killers and get in some salt in. Time to make ome Mating Jackets etc. Best of all get some 'Goldern fleece' sheep dip. Make concerted efforts to preserve and save our beloved brds. One stint this winter alone would have you bathing in dreams of improved reality for the coming season. No spouting, just doing, actual action is what is needed.
Guest chrisss Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Listening to the news this morning, an article caught my attention, saying that numbers of BOP being poisoned in Scotland this year has reached 46 i think that if its true that these birds are been poisoned, its disgusting, i was never invited to watch, but with the numbers been bred i doubt you would notice any difference, when its 146 lets have a party

Must be a cause for a celebration every 100 downed eh!Perhaps the RSPB would be so kind as to put up a Web Cam for viewing till our hearts are content eh! Now that would be nice eh! But alas alack it still means the 'Fancier' must get of his / her backside and stand up and be counted. I'll donate a bottle of Scotch for the first 100 done away with. Could catch on and will do the Irish and Scotch Whisky stilleries the world of good in these times of hardship... Gosh just imagine how it would / will hopefully - warm the cockles of the heart!
