sapper756 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 With the potential of a North East wind on Staurday, will members be seriously considering what they send?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 With the potential of a North East wind on Staurday, will members be seriously considering what they send? Yes mate ,same weather down here and we will look closely at some of the birds when we basket them, we have a few smaller sized birds and might keep them back, also we only have yearlings to race this year so we might look again at not sending them all,but we have sent them all the last 3 weeks and had 100% returns up till now so don't think it is the time to be foolhardy

Novice Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 I will reduce my team especially after the disaster Ayrshire federation experienced last week with approximately 30% of the convoy still missing.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 I will reduce my team especially after the disaster Ayrshire federation experienced last week with approximately 30% of the convoy still missing. Quite amazing that Ayrshire fed had such a bad race from such a short distance especially at that time of the day as they had the skies to themselves with very little wind. Although the over crowding would not have done the pigeons any favours. Wish you and the Ayrshire lads all the best for the forthcoming races. Gareth

Novice Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Gareth over crowding ? in the baskets ? I wouldn't really think overcrowding was an issue according to the reliable information I have.I think the problem was more complex than that.I had a NEHU stray arrive with my first pigeon (Blyth in Northumberland) and another NEHU stray arrive later in the evening. I also had an Almond Valley stray early Sunday morning. One fancier has had a bird reported from this race on an oil platform.Any conclusion I draw would be supposition.
