even you hot rod were not thinking your bird would make it home that day in such a strong west wind i believe you were away training when it arrived ;) but such a performance although fantastic is pretty much a one off

most races favour south easterly located lofts and up the east side of scotland

dont think bart was saying you were a one off, only one gold cup snfc winner in the west section in 30 years tells a story,i think in the snrpc with the smaller convoys you have a better chance of a top position. :)

I think now with more west section feds starting to duplicate into the national we could see the birdage go up a good bit in the SNFC races and more pigeons will be timed into the west as a result..( Look at it this way i only joined the SNFC last season and went to 1 race the gold cup sending 2 pigeons and this coming season i am thinking of sending anything up to 30 in all the old bird races so thats 28 pigeons of a gain from just 1 member so a lot of extra birds could be had this year from our fed alone! )

I think thats a bit premature as you dont know what the new season holds for you. keep the high balls low

What? Are your doos too fast for the peregrines :)

We'll have to wait and find that 1 out but i think i'll be able to send quite a few to the SNFC races let's just say that much ;) especially as 3 of them are fed races...

With the race programme now being decided by the S.N.F.C what race do we use for our Channel Race.Ypres on the 3rd July (which would be my preference to give fanciers the time to educate their youngsters) or Falaise on 17th July. May i take this opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Officials and Management Commitee within the New Scottish National Flying Club and all the best for the oncoming season. The only post that does not seam to be taken is  that of the PRO  which i hope they approach the greatest scribe to-date the wee man fom Kircaldy Joe Murphy.

Why dont lanarkshire fed consider going to alencon with the snfc for their fed race it would give some lanarkshire fanciers a chance to compete in scotlands no1 race the snfc gold cup who dont normally go to this race due to not having enough top pigeons to compete in the two channel races.

I would go for that in a minute as i think it would lift the birdage big time in the race and i know a few people in my own club would vote for it aswell!!

Too late for this year Davy as our race programme has already been decided mate ;) But who knows what the future holds???

i think ypres and falaise in the lanarkshire fed program would be a great idea

Bad idea too many races and not enough pigeons i think its time that the small time fancier who doesnt keep many pigeons should be considered after a few bad races you might be struggling yourself dava its ok for gareth rankin who race a large team to support this idea

no not at all,i think smaller convoys over the years have provided the west section with national winners ie jock cosgrove & ian mcgee come to mind, this year 2 wins in the snrpc in the west at the distance with small convoys.certainly in my area there are now fanciers racing and winning with the snrpc that had previously never competed at national level, which is good. :)
