Guest Vic Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 This morning, I phoned our local training guy up, hoping to get his commencement date, only to find out that it was LAST WEEK. He is even out there today, in a strong freezing northerely wind. How can anybody train pigeons in such weather? It has been so bad, I haven't been letting mine out some days. He knows Vic will never train in cold winds which is why he never called in. Have these guys never heard of the RSPCB? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
ALF Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Guys in my own club are training already Vic and it's still too bloody cold and windy up here just now aswell : :

Tony C Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Was a topic of conversation with a friend of mine this morning (yes I do have one ;D). Neither of us have us have put a pigeon in the basket yet. We both have the same philosophy in that the season starts when were good and ready and not as the race programme dictates. Races can be won with pigeons sitting in the loft!

Guest cloudview Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 when will they ever learn , same thing every year training in winter conditions . if a race controller tossed pigeons in the same weather there would be an uproar , next they,ll be bleating my season s over lost most of them , blame the birds anything but themselves. ive worked outdoor most my working life so know what its like , woud,nt wish it on any thing . these people that say ive got to towork so the birds do as well , probably sit in a nice office reading the paper all day. carry on lads cuts the competion down
