yes building lime is just as good!just does not smell as sweet  :) :)

I used slaked lime many years ago. Cannot find it now so use Harkers loft dressing very sparingly. Not sure if slaked lime is same as builders lime but have not been able to find either in garden centres or builders merchants in my area.

Yeh Taylors choice are cheap but the postage puts it over the top - could I use ordinary flour with somne vim or something in it - after all I usually sweep it out so it dont leave it dusty. I've got perspex sheets on my roof and get a little condensation that drips down on the floor, specially when its foggy.

Praps I could even nick a bit of her talc. - I could have the only gay widowhood cocks in the village.....

use garden lime you will get it from any garden centre

This type of lime is no good, it is in granular form and does not soak up moisture. The type of lime needed should be the same consistency of flour/icing sugar ie; powdery and light to absorb moisture and easily swept up with a brush.

Who uses loft white?

Also does it help keep the humidity down?

i use it but only as a floor dressing it helps dry moisture in droppings quicker , humidty would only be effected if heated loft and adjusted air flow

think the stuff i got is called limestone flour got it from a farm feed store  about £6 for 20/ 25 kg

Thats what we used to use but havn't seen it for years!

You'll find Loft White / Parc Blanco? is limestone flour. Its garden / agricultural lime, natural & harmless to the birds, unlike hot lime / slaked lime, which can burn the birds eyes. Apply sparingly and brush it in as it tends to blow about.

Our delivery charges will soon be changing to help bring costs down on smaller orders and to give customers the opportunity of free delivery if they order over a certain value at different weights. It's quite complicated but once it's done you will see what I mean :)
