Roland Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 i think this guy should be removed from the site .unless he produces 4 hawk carcases I think the reality is we need a few more of him. Les is a mind of brilliant info regards the 'Hawk / B.O.P. Problem. Just wish there were 10 like him in every Fed.

Roland Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 think you will find les has done more than you lot put together a wise many more should listen to him we might give our doos a break from bop Oh course. 100% correct. If more listened to him, took note and actually put into practise his wise words there wouldn't be a B.O.P. problem. And as for Budgie spouting '.... He would not last long in Lanarkshire' he doesn't understand the realism and what Les says and means.... or does he mean Lanarkshire like the hawks and B.O.P. around :-/ I think he doesn't understand les's quip.... At least I hope that is the case.

DJ Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 i only became a pigeon fancier by chance (when a stray moved in to my garden shed) and hate to see animals of any kind suffering or killed but over the last couple of years ive gone from wondering what all the fuss was about with fanciers complaining week after week but that was until i had my 1st s/h attack a couple of years ago bad luck i thought but i was wrong and since then ive been hit by bops more and more until im now frightened to let my birds out its obvious to me that nobody is going to help us fanciers so we have to help ourselves by whatever means possible and i dont care if that means a few bops are moved on bop numbers have got totally out of hand now and i will do ANYTHING to protect my birds > if there is anywhere in the uk that isnt affected by bop attacks then count yourself lucky but be prepared cos your day will come and u will get your wake up call as sure as i did debs
Guest Owen Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I lost a 14 year old hen today to the BOP. She was a pure white hen that produced a lot of winners. Everybody in this area knew her. I will get that b one way or the other.
DJ Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 sorry to hear that owen to get through 14 years with her and then lose her to a bop must be gutting good luck one way or the other debs
Guest Owen Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Yes Debs I am gutted, upset, disapointed, angry. A whole mixture of emotions. I want to get even but right now I am coming up short on how to do it. In the days and weeks to come I will get my own back somehow. The poor little thing did not deserve what happened to her.
DJ Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 i know how u are feeling owen cos been thru all the emotions myself > im not a vindictive person but when u see your birds being killed/injured it can bring out the worst in u unfortunately we are now getting to saturation point with bops and i honestly cant see how things are gonna improve? ive sent u a pm debs
Roland Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 well Les why don't you enlighten us all with your words of wisdom says taylor lofts :o Don't be silly. streuth why don't you ask for a TV media coverages and plant it in all the news papers! Yes let us all scream it from the roof tops. Why! Because you are no nearer to knowing reality SO you decide to spout off and hamper good decent folks that stand up to be counted in stead of doing you bit to eliminate this problem! Oh sorry! ONE should enlighten you with a RSPB doctrine no doubt. I mean after all EVERY one should know the names and where about of any and every person that does what 99% dream of, and spout about about. So let's put it in black and white for all and sundry to see.
GRAHAM MITCHELL Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Just looked out front window and saw hen sparrowhawk on top of neighbours pigeon in the middle of the road. Pity there was no bus coming as this is the bus route. Scared the b-------d away and pigeon seems fine. Lucky escape this time.
Guest Owen Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Unbelievable! My white hen was sitting on the loft this morning. Battered but unbowed. She must have been hiding somewhere. I certainly will not be exposing her to the risk of becoming hawk dinner again. Whew!
