my father first done this book i think in 1967 it carried on till 1969 he restarted the book in 1988 and carried on until 2001 which was the year he passed away i still have boxes of books in my attic i have given the shu some back copies 1991 1996 1998 2000 and 2001 the money they make from these will hopefully replace older trophies given out by the shu every year if anyone would like one or more books they can pm myself or get in touch with the shu offices .my dad put a lot of work into these books over the years and i am a very proud man to say that my dad was scotlands own i still read them over the winter months its nice to know that people are still asking about scotlands own . all the best .  dale renwick

dale as you know i was friendly with your dad the work and effort he put in was unbelievable and there are other scribes taking the credit for his ideas just now but it was your dad that started all thease very badly missed he was not afraid to call a spade a spade

Will say it is very good and enjoyable. Full of great and very meriteous information, and great knowledge for those who read it. I have a copy, will check the year where Jim tells of a great fancier that always had to have his water for making tea boiled twice.... Was A king of Scotland. Strangely never see and Scots mention him  :-/

I GOT MY FIRST SQUILLS IN 1970 and was sure i had never seen a scotlands own till about 1987     which would be corect as you said it stoped after 1969 Dale ,

yes were a good read especially when the articles were about known fanciers rather than just names in a book. :)

Used to collect these year books, got a pile tucked away somewhere.

Will always remember 1995 when Jim called me to say I had won Scotland's Own Under 25 Fancier of The Year, mainly thanks to winning 6th Open SNFC Niort that year 613 miles.

The presentation night was excellent, still remember it well. Numerous top fanciers from the UK were there and the number of offers for youngsters from them was amazing. Jim's dedication to this venture was magnificent
