Fair Play Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 It was the brainchild of the late Jim Renwick don't think it is still on the go - could be wrong
andy Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Scotlands Own was Jim Renwick. Since his passing there has been no books.

Guest frank dooman Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 dale as you know i was friendly with your dad the work and effort he put in was unbelievable and there are other scribes taking the credit for his ideas just now but it was your dad that started all thease very badly missed he was not afraid to call a spade a spade
Roland Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Will say it is very good and enjoyable. Full of great and very meriteous information, and great knowledge for those who read it. I have a copy, will check the year where Jim tells of a great fancier that always had to have his water for making tea boiled twice.... Was A king of Scotland. Strangely never see and Scots mention him :-/
Guest stb- Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 I GOT MY FIRST SQUILLS IN 1970 and was sure i had never seen a scotlands own till about 1987 which would be corect as you said it stoped after 1969 Dale , yes were a good read especially when the articles were about known fanciers rather than just names in a book.

Chris Little Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Used to collect these year books, got a pile tucked away somewhere. Will always remember 1995 when Jim called me to say I had won Scotland's Own Under 25 Fancier of The Year, mainly thanks to winning 6th Open SNFC Niort that year 613 miles. The presentation night was excellent, still remember it well. Numerous top fanciers from the UK were there and the number of offers for youngsters from them was amazing. Jim's dedication to this venture was magnificent
