started racing them in 1980 but i kept streeters when i was a kid going into old buildings for them, kept in tea chests (happy days) makes you feel old now.

Started with the pigeons 1989. My father raced pigeons briefly between 1983-1990 The biggest lesson I learnt from him was sitting on a damp bench waiting for pigeons played havoc with his farmer giles ;D

My grandfather kept them from 1930 and I joined him in 1973 aged 7. I left partnership in 80s  when I was on the drive myself ;D and returned in 1989. My grandfather passed away in 1991 and ive flown myself since. My total time in pigeons, about 36 years.

Helped my Dad and Uncle out in there last season which was 1989..

Then got my own loft in the garden, and my first pigeon was a Blue cheq pied hen Su90g gift from Big Wullie McLean.. followed by an unrung Dark Cock from Andy Leddy (sadly deceased) and a pair of blood reds from Joe Quinn.

Raced there until 98, then moved back to the allotments and went in to partnership with my best mate Tommy. Flew as Glancy & Jones till 01'.. Then as Delboy put it 'went on the drive myself'..!!

Started back this year as Glancy & Jones again.. Now that's me for life..!!

Been in my family 80 odd years Grand father and his Brothers raced. as has my Dad since he was a small boy and me and my brother since birth.

Also My father in-law and his father both raced as now does his daughter (my wife) and her Nephew (My partner in Formula 1 lofts john Cowlin) As you see a long line both sides.

Had the birds since i was 7,   No family has ever had them (that i know of) I have always been a lad of the world, started early nestting in the local woods and had a chicken,  when i was 7 me and a mate walked past a young lad that was calling his birds from the street,  he was only 6 years older and is still a good mate today,    he started us off with strays and gift birds,  in 1998 i got my own loft and in 99 i got an allotment,  thats was burnt down in 2003, keeped building untill 2005 when i got my own house and built my present loft    :)

mt nan kept tumblers and chickens when my dad was a boy, id have been about 6 or 7 when my dad got some fantails and tumblers i can still remember the day he brought 2 tumblers home and we kept them in a rabbit hutch type thing my dad made. it eventually progressed 2 a 20ft loft with racers.. i have fund memories of my childhood with my dad and the birds.. i got married and mortgage 5 years ago as soon as i got the keys to my house the loft was being planned.. unfortunatley my dad died in our first season at my house.. but i know when im down the garden with the pigeons im with my dad.. pigeons are in my blood and nothing else ive ever done gives me the buzz pigeons do...

Got bitten by the bug in 1983 and since then have been in partnership with dad (George) who has been in the pigeons since 1952, like many of the other posts i also went on the drive but it was a drive to get better pigeons and performances, priorities have to come first and that is Pigeons first then women second. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D

Have to go now as her in doors has just come back. :P ;D ;D ;D
