Guest bigda Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 my first year back ,, im champing at the bit :) :) you are better giving them a dummy run mate to make sure they take as don't leave it to the last minute or you could end up with eggs smashed and all sorts and if they come of the eggs as it will be getting colder

Put the pairs in there boxes to see if they accept each other etc, and decided to leave them until I come home from work. 2 hens totally scalped! Wont be doing that again. Well you learn by your mistakes I guess!

big blue bar Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 i m going to pair up in between xmas and new year alway found some don t pair up straight away seen some pairs not laying after 4 week especialy yearling hens and your always struggling to get youngsters away in time to get widows ready for racing
