A couple of late ones, Darkies always seem to be well covered in down.

Had these out yesterday for the first time, They were hatched 27th Aug. So you can see I don't let them out until they can really fly, They had been out with the older youngsters for a while when a young Buzzard came over low and calling this sent one of the Darkies up with an older youngster, They did about 10 big circuits rising all the time when a flock of 60/70 birds, Fieldfare or Redwings I guess, came by heading West and the Darkie joined them and disappeared out of sight, This was about 3pm. I kept looking but no sign, When I looked at 6pm. the nest mate had gone and thats how I shut up loft,

Super day today so I was hopeful when I got up but no sign, Then around 11 they hit the loft together, I don't have nearby roof's but I've done the lottery tonight

When asked to name what they considered to be their two finest inland racers they responded – ‘Janefield Supermac’ and ‘Janefield Wonderboy’. ‘Janefield Supermac’ was a Buscchaert and gained 17 x 1sts including 1st Fed 7,857 birds, 1st Fed 6,034 birds, 1st Fed 5,230 birds, 1st Fed 3,527 birds, 1st Fed 1,591 birds. He was additionally 2nd Fed 3,962 birds and 2nd Fed 3,978 birds

the sire to my bird was about 12 years old when i was gifted him (from memory) .

My guess would be that Supermac was bred around 1985-86.

Anyone know the origin of the Beardsmore Busshearts? Have 1 credited to him in my stock loft and he's throwing nice youngsters.

I think Arthur Beardesmore called his family Terror Busschaerts so that might give you a starting point.

Good pigeons which were in the hands of an accomplished fancier

i have been reading this post and i have got to agree its been great reading and i would like to add another great busschaert cock called the mean machine which was bred by Alan hindhaugh @ George Donaldson of Washington, unc, this pigeon was purchased in 1986, as a yb in a charity sale and purchased by cammock bros of horden the club where i race with my partner, the mean machine won 7, 1st, in horden east end, and 6, 1St's in the south east Durham federation, and 1st, up north combine lillers, 331 mls, 13,723, birds, 3rd unc folkestone,23,653, birds, 10th unc abbeville,19,061, birds, etc, and i believe he is the only bird to win the sea link trophy open to all members of the nehu on 2 occasions,he also won the all busschaert show held at louella, i think you will agree he was some pigeon that only come along every now and again, also the same bloodlines bred 1st up north combine bourges for rod adams, of south shields known as little miss bourges approx 572,mls on the day of liberation, and both birds are now responsible for generations of winners,so i think you will agree hindhaugh @ dondaldson, had some excllent busschaerts as well, podgy,

had Busshearts from Howard Henson of Deal back in the 80s also 1 pair from Tom Larkins. Excellent birds. Been out of the sport sine '92, due to work etc but back in 2013. Been very enjoyable reading this thread but still in a bit of a mist as to where to go to buy the best, the very best, of the Bussheart lines. Also find myself wondering if Tom Larkins is still alive and racing? Or has he hit the wires? Any info appreciated please feel free to email if you would prefer. Best, B'
