sorry to say its p I ss ed down all morning in the N/East --had one stranger last night fed and watered outside of loft and chased it c/white cock hasn't returned.
-
Well mine are all done and vac sheet already to go to sec--- no more being added to my team now as young ones hold back the older ones. Dont leave corn in for them after feeding get the trough out. Make sure grit and minerals is available.and dont forget about the greens.
-
Your y/birds will be mixed when racing comes along and exposed to all sorts then,so assess the young bird befor you buy---dont buy them at at 25days i like mine with full tail 30 day plus but thats my preference --half a cancer tablet down its neck and one drop on its neck ,spray for lice under its wings put on the telephone ring and get it in with the rest--dunking its beak in the drinker as you put it in. Always be looking for huffy youngbirds and ones not going to feed----light feed morning as much as they want on a night.

If you want to use a bobby basic velocity calculator try going on wda pigeons --top left click on velocity calc---this one does the maths only.

make sure garden clean and vermin bait points in place all rubbish including pigeon manure is buried or binned--all your foodstuff is in good bins to prevent vermin feeding on it ,--have a bacterial spray at hand with antibac in it ---look around other gardens to identify whos shed is constructed on the ground and is more of a risk to entice vermin than you---and have a current vaccination sheet pinned inside your loft -

as long as a common base is used there will be no variation--so gps measure with the same system. the NEHU has the same dilema with time variation between radio signals on some clocks and GPS time signal on others.
-
Lost a club member because he retired now he is full time grandad and doesnt have time for birds so packed in he says its best thing he done---well as long as he is happy, enjoy it kirky but steady away.

Exercise For Young Birds?
ovy1255 replied to cheltenhamfancier's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
letting youngbirds out at w/ends is a bad gamble until they are trained and even then its dodgy--you need to get them out during the week and remember its light later during the season. -
And if they wont budge look for another site---i knowits shorter but park at chester-le-street looks good spot ---tanfield railway another posibility or waldridge fell -----come on lads near sedgefield see if you can get a site for the lads.
-
Been having a look at you position on google earth --whats the weather like where you are and is there many fanciers there?
-
gav if you are rearing them with the lights on you can cause the parents to start an early moult and ruin some of your old bird races--ok if they are from stock keep us informed how they are progressing during the year.
-
You will be flying y/birds on their last few flight. If you want this system to work get your fed to start y/bird racing later.

try looking at this and alter to your needs http://www.skylakesions.com/Portable%20Loft/New%20Loft%20.htm solid floor and doors under landing board to close when damp --but all the dust can be blown out on nice days. -
in the n/east we read off within 2 hours of clocking so on long channel races and the see what time some birds have arrived home when your down at the club -used mine .
-

Or you could put unikon onto new computor and using each clock import from clock so you dont need his computor at all. remember you need activation code for 2015 this is usually sent to ets person in club but a phone call to unikon when master is set up should get it.
