" then it goes against status quo a good chairman might clump a number of prop. together if he thinks they are the same and he may ask for some one to move status quo" - Frankdooman spot on here Frank but the problem is the status quo has to be proposed and seconded it is not the chairmans responsibility to do this and you would have to assume if it was a goer somebody at the meeting would have had the gumption to do so.If it is not proposed it does not even come into it. If that was the case it would not be unreasonable to have a straight vote. With the way the fife fed is financially as someone else said earlier the status quo was not even an option.

"Flying Doo shouldny be about your ability to pay it should be about fair and reasonable for everyon ...cant go chasing folk cos they can pay up by such and such a date" here here dandydoo agree 100%
-
Quoted from celtic Why not as greengrass says £85 for example and then a fiver or tenner for every bird you send over a certain amount. "yes greengrass those are reasonable, i agree" sorry Fifer can't agree here don't know what Greengrass was thinking about why not make it nothing to send the birds but £10 for every bird you time in that would teach they mob flyers
-
Quoted from slugmonkey We have been doing this one cost for all for about 3 years now but we did it to increase the number of birds shipped we broke it down and it actually saves most members money and is also generating more money for the club a few who seldom shipped ( or do anything else for that matter ) balked at first but they came around we are shipping a higher number of birds with more money being generated for the club "probably is ok and a good way" - Fifer agree with you 100% here as well
-
"well be it all on their heads" well said Fifer agree with this 100%

Have never heard of an old bird that was jagged as a youngster that went on to catch paramyx Sharron but the science behind dead vaccines in theory means that they could after a while.Perhaps you could tread the middle path and jag them when you have finished breeding. Also different scrapers shovels etc for different lofts is a good idea.

birds need the best and freshest grit and miinerals all year round don't over fill the dishes and if anything is left after a week fling it out and start again.

"THIS WAS SOMETHING HUGHIE BROWN SHOWED ME AND HE NEVER USED MAPLES , WELL THATS WHAT HE TOLD ME AND HUGHIE WAS HONEST, HE FED HIS BIRDS BEANS NEARLY ALL THE TIME WITH MAIZE BEING ADDED AS THE RACES GOT LONGER" Hughie used to hammer the peanuts into them in the run to the race as well Tammy the high amounts of digestible fats is what is useful here.
-
people who "run" pigeon racing(generally speaking) are the scum of the earth, try and join a club with decent members and decent club officials who will shake your hand when you have timed a decent doo from a hard race (and mean it) they are the type of people who will keep doo racing going it is not really any more complicated than that trust me I speak from experience!!
-
"janwar winds blew hansel in on Robin" think about it!
-
"use of oils" hope there are no "animal rights" punters looking in this garbage is embarrasing pigeons that are being looked after properly don't need this sort of crap and could lead to crop failure problems if over done.
-
But to get back to the original question for the average fancier think of the number you bred last year and very roughly divide by two!! trust me am a dooman (not Frank)
-
but here in Scotland try getting them into ayrshire / Renfrewshire then you will know what hard is good point Frank I've said on here before to the east coast snfc mafia that liberations have taken place when nobody in the "Toon" where no honest men would let their doos out because the weather was so bad. Hence no members left in the club. Only a few "I used to be in charge read my letter in the BHW" types WHO NEVER FLEW A DOO IN THEIR LIFE
-
once they are fit and raring to go they will come home in the dark especially from a regular tossing point but be careful till your happy with the way they are coming and of course don't take any risks at all in the last week before they go to "the big race"

"Well, when does realise that a cup can only hold amounts till Brimful! Will never ever hold more and that's a simple fact.Likewise pigeons. Then a simple realisation that any and all excess is discarded. Which should lead to the reality that any and everything in moderation. That what is not needed is irrelevant. That it is a science to take away and replace, especially to improve and not do any damamge. A pigeon is pefect for what it is and does. Feeds of even fish and chips means that ferals are ofeten in first class condition. The natural feed has to be the best. Bison, rhino's elelphants etc. grow real powerful on grass and twigs etc. Likewise Whales etc. on Plankton. When are we going to feed fish algae to our birds. Why isn't grass etc. good for the birds! Rabbit pellest etc. are supposedly brill... When the Enzines can take care of it! " another Stanley Unwin memorial award to you Roland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"not really if a pigeon hasnt done anything by its even 2 yr old in my opinion it will never do anything. " - Wiley No offence Wiley mate but the above is nonsense. If I had culled some birds using your guidlines I would have disposed of some the best birds I ever had the privilege of owning.
-
The scottish pigeon fraternity and the Scottish Homing Union in particular are being brought into disrepute by all of this pathetic nonsense we have become the laughing stock of British pigeon racing. Its all so sad what a mess!

Question .. If the Guys in the RPRA had been running the SHU and the motion still fell ...what would have happened then ?? Thats dead easy Dandydoo they could have just walked off the platform and denied the members a vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"a little of what you fancy" is the secret here rotate the grits you give your birds and avoid any potential problems with grit impaction which in extreme cases can even lead to the death of the bird. Red grit is much the same as white grit, which incidentley is still widely available in my neck of the woods. Also using mix grits does no harm but they will resist picking the granite given a choice. Infact you could argue that grits with additives such as aniseed could be useful to encourage hens to eat more when you want them to get more calcuim prior to laying.

which fed was that then johno? Incidentally organisations that have a one fed only rule are in breach of the human rights act, so he could just have sued them if he was that keen!
-
"Don't figure anyone would be critical about being a pigeon fan... Ed" if only Ed, on here maybe but generally speaking the general public are so ignorant they think we are trying to infect them with something our birds are harbouring and they say ignorance is bliss!!
-
