"Roland the RPRA have consulted their Lawyers and were told they have to comply. " nothing in the Act to say the rules of traditional sports and pastimes have to be changed nothing in the Act at all. The only reason this is being brought in is to allow people to make money out of the dwindling number of gullible pigeon men and women.

Clubs becoming Federations ????
me replied to GREENGRASS's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
the delagates from all the proper feds should get together and tell the joke fed delagates where to go and elect a new President into the bargain and try and bring about a bit self respect and dignity back to the SHU. -
"were kicking off on the 7th april 3 borders fed" utter madness!!

Clubs becoming Federations ????
me replied to GREENGRASS's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
its really sad Greengrass but the SHU is fast becoming the laughing stock of British Pigeon Racing -
"Think that kind of race would be more properly termed a marathon or extreme diatance race rather than long distance racing, even into to the South Section" don't think John Proctor would agree with you Bruno.
-
"CELTIC, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR POSTING, BUT LETS BE SERIOUS THESE GUYS ARE GETTING THIS SECTION BECAUSE THE ENGLISH KNOW THE SCOTS ARE GOING TO WIN ABSOLUTELY F*** ALL AGAINST THEM, BEING IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION THEYRE IN. WHY DO THE CUMBRIA COMBINE AND THE UNC HAVE THEIR OWN ORGANISATIONS? ITS NO ROCKET SCIENCE. GOOD LUCK..." and if you applied Mr.Miller's logic to Scotland I presume the guys in the east and the south only let the lofts in the west of the country fly against them because of the geographical disadvantage they have to try and cope with.
-
"JUST READING ALL THE "ANDY GRAYS AND ALAN HANSENS" POSTS WHO NOWADAYS SEEM TO BE MORE ENGLISH THAN SCOTTISH. NEXT YOU GUYS WILL BE SUPPORTING ENGLAND WHEN THEY PLAY SCOTLAND AT FOOTBALL, RUGBY ETC. NOTHING AGAINST YOU SOLWAY GUYS SOME TOP FLYERS DOWN THERE BUT HOW LONG WOULD YOU LAST FLYING AGAINST ONLY THE ENGLISH WEEK IN WEEK OUT. BE GREAT IF YOU WERE ALL 100% FOR SCOTLAND JUST LIKE YOUR FORE-FATHERS WERE.....GOOD LUCK!!" -Andy I would just like to apoligise on behalf of all the decent sporting pigeon people in Scotland for the garbage posted by Andy that I have quoted above, we are not all like Mr.Miller honest.
-
"true but as informed by my fed delegate for the snfc, delegates were told to go back and ask there fed if they were interested in going with the snfc." This is not alwas possible Square Peg for instance a couple of years ago the "Glasgow" committee member was a member of the Midland Federation so it would be difficult for him to attend Glasgow Fed meetings!!!
-
"looks like federations are getting their act together and for everyones benifit the feds are going with the snfc good and for the one or two who have still to decide i am sure that the members who are in these feds will do the best for all concerned.lots of birds up together good saveings for the federation members " do you know if the Glasgow and South lanarkshire feds have been asked Gutty Hen?
-
"but always remember vince is the daddy." well your new commonsense approach to pigeon racing in Scotland did'nt last very long did it Gutty Hen, the man is the President of the biggest fed in Scotland maybe a little more respect for that position and the fed members would do your cause more good. One thing for sure what you have said above is just childish nonsense and not helpful to anyone.
-
"sorry i meant to say BART" no worries Tammy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Probably the right decision especially when you have a generous sponser for the race. No matter who you go to Maidstone with lets hope all the doos get a fair crack at it!!
-
"Its the same old story blaming position when you get beaten. If the majority of the leading batch in a national were west birds the west would win the national. Why does it happen so often that birds are timed in the south and east sections long before there is anything in the west." your almost answering your own question Jade but sadly enough you don't even realise it. bottom line even if the majority of birds were from the west 9 times out of 10 a bird in the east or more especially the south east would win it. A bit of advice for what its worth if your wanting to fly long distance doos into the west of Scotland try and get them from the west of Scotland your liable to be disappointed if you buy doos from the opposite side of the country and be a lot poorer into the bargain!
-
"Yes the wind will play it's part and push them here or there but that is the only thing that will determine which line of flight the pigeons will take." Sorry Gareth but you only have to lookback at some old race results to know just how clearly incorrect your above statement is.
-
"I THINK RETURNS WISE THIS HAD TO BE LANARKSHIRES BIGGEST DISASTER" this has to be a wind up Bart Did all the birds get back from Scotch Corner then Bart? Everyone has to make their own minds up but if you give a yearling "a good kicking " too early you might just ruin a good old bird before it gets a chance to mature. Whatever you decide lads I wish you the best of luckor rather I wish your birds the best of luck. My own opinion for what its worth is some pigeons are just plain unlucky when it comes to who owns them!
-
"a touch of east in the wind, i could easily see the winner there,, " so could I Jimmy but its not the winner I was worried about. "yearlings getting dragged all over to the wrong side of the country well if there are dragged east dont we race from there if there dragged to the west dont we stay there?????? " Do Lanarkshire have many races from Fife and Tayside then Bart?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
No one would blame you Alf and Tammy and the east coast tram lines effect will be in evidence especially from Maidstone receipe for losing promising young birds as far as I can see if you are in the western/central parts of the country
-
Saving money is all very well but some guys will risk a relatively inexperienced bird when its going with its own federation and racing to roughly the same area, thats how they get experience. Would'nt be suprised if there was a drop in birdage among non SNFC fed members and after all its supposed to be one of their biggest fed races. I would also bet money there will be a good few birds dragged away to the wrong part of Scotland!

try and find a name that seems to match there individual personality traits. Although having said that all of mine are called "Schitty Bagstart" !!!!!!!!!!!!

Safe enough conclusion based on the information at that time, Roland. But not on the info made known in the last two days. The index case before then "was always one location, one shed. Biosecurity was said to be 110% so didn't spread to other 21 sheds. We now know that there were 4 infected sheds, and we now know of a processing plant where biosecurity has been questioned, and we now know of a trail into Hungary, to a bernard matthews plant, and tonight (BBC News24 1000pm)we know that plant in Hungary used an abbatoir not far from the Hungary outbreak. What we don't know is how long had there been sickness on the Suffolk site and did this sickness occur before the initial deaths in the 'one' shed?" - Bruno oh no what can we doo pity the poor guys who want to race turkeys from "Rennes" next year'. Oh wait a minute there is alot of Turkeys go to "Rennes" every year calm down lads its only goverment ministers earning their money""""""""""
-
Think we all have to calm down and get things in perspective here. H5N1 was first isolated in chickens in SCOTLAND in the 1950's ok a slightly different strain but its taken it 50 years to progress as much as it has. Not suggesting we should'nt take it seriously just get a bit of balance into this. Now how about talking about racing our doos or something?
-
Its not good news for Turkeys certainly but on the other hand at the moment its not terribly bad news for doos. Our task, and that means you and me, is to convince the public (and the media if possible) that our doos are almost an irrlevance as far as bird flu is concerned.Which strangely enough is actually true.

"Hi Total balls up by KB AND AS Cheers Homer 49" yawn yawn yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"THATS GARBAGE RAB, A LOT OF FOLK ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE NATIONAL, SO I THINK YOUR REMARK HERE IS A BIT INSULTING ." -Tammy Don't know if its garbage or not Tammy but it sure is a worry if the mighty Lanarkshire Fed have not got enough doos for an open race on their own from 350 miles. The doo game really is in trouble.
-
"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ASK ME ?" You mean what do I want to ask you Tammy do you not?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
