  1. No I think its mine thats playing up Ian I'll try and post this reply again the last one disappeared. I would like to apoligise to you Ian, I completely misread your post which is probably why I was deleting my original post just as QUITE RIGHTLY you were posting your reply. Once again Ian my apoligies for misreading your post - cheers
  2. Just in case anyone has got the wrong idea from some of my posts, as far as I am concerned the more the merrier especially a young keen lad we don't get many nowadays. As I have said a few times on this forum we are a dying breed, lets enjoy it as long as we can!
  3. Take your point but the lottery people are not really interested in that, is your club open to all assuming they are willing to abide by the rules is the main stipulation. Not is it open to people who are not members of this club or that federation or who is not related to or a pal of this one or that one. That is regarded as discrimination and as such a grant will not be awarded. If I remember correctly the SHU themselves received a grant, wonder if they will end up having to pay it back?
  4. Could be a dangerous thing to suggest, some federations (midland, lanarkshire for instance) have rules which are approved by SHU but would appear to be at odds with Lottery Grant rules for a hand out. If this becomes well known lots of clubs might well be having fund raising squeaker sales to help repay the grants they have received.
  5. Well put it this way as soon as someone's birds have wet droppings they are on here asking for advice on how to cure them. So why give something to help them get wet droppings? Unless of course they have indigestion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Surely a new start could make use of it somewhere, shame to waste it. What size is it anyway Ferry, is it made from weatherboard? looks a handy wee hut for a new start.
  7. There is an awful lot of clubs up here will be scratching for cash to pay the lottery grant people back Jimmy if half the stories I have heard are true.
  8. You have just worked it out Geordie although I am not sure you realise it? "THE FEDS PAID COST --" in effect that is exactly what they do, as some one has already said, sooner or later the feds will have to look after themselves. Plus you have to remember that the club, all be it on a minority vote decided to deprive themselves of some 200 plus members not that long ago. So they have to make up the difference some how! Whos daft?

Take a tip from "me" wait till you are actually a dooman as in have some doos with a dookit to put them in then worry if your doos will come home quick enough to need any sort of clock!!!!!!!!!!

    ring prices

Sounds like a bargain to "me" SHU = 35P EACH!!
  11. Well done ferry lad this is what the sport should be all about. Smart looking wee dookit into the bargain!!
  12. Thats great pleased to hear it but racing yearlings into the west of the country can be a dfficult past time. Good luck in the "proper" nationals from france this year Taylorsloft.

    Spot on Johno!!
  15. The problem with that is people like to get a fly from the coast from their yearlings and the inland national is already a problem as its too early in the season. Plus if someone from the west of the country was brave enough, or should that be daft enough, to allow promising yearlings to be liberated from Maidstone with a large convoy of birds travelling up the east coast tramlines he would almost certainly get what he deserves!

  17. correct Bart lad think you're getting the hang of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. There used to be 4 + the fed race and no silly wee inland so called nationals. They were the days!
  19. Stick "me"'s name in as well and give the bird to Richard if I win and he can auction it for funds to help run the site. Genuinely, no offence but sprinters are no use to "me", but its still a lovely looking bird..
  20. "me" would suggest you start again with just a few more than that if you have the time to dedicate to their welfare. As some of the others have suggested a "Rabbit Hutch" type solution would be the best in the short term and cost you next to nothing. Get a few wee sprinters that would let you race up to 300 miles or so, in fact Jansens would be perfect. Remember to make sure cats and maggies and the like can't annoy them by "peering" in. All the best.
  21. Out of interest Darknight have you ever actually kept the doos?
