  3. WHY ? Are Feds starting as early as this it's crazy most of the other Feds are trying For later dates ,IMO there are so many things against early racing ,weather .BOP feeding Hard to go to nest.I don't understand .i hope you get the rest of your birds back.
  4. Your right Walter at this time of the year it's hard to fit everything in ,old birds out and in .YB out and in and then the same thing at night, even when your not working ,and fit training in as well.hope you get your other one in .its not just the injuries the BOP cause its the damage inside their head as well.?
  5. 64 I right ??"??? Have a great day pal
  6. Chad u got it right they need to be out in a breaking cage so they can view their surrounding area. In the first place don't let them get to strong on the wing .get them out when they have short tails to Walk about the garden , then feed them back in ,spend as much time as u can with your YB and they will respond to your call.
  7. Fill gullie pot with concord and breeding mix in feed tray. +layers pellets .will start on a race mix shortly when young weaned with about 25% barley.

Have a look at Petron lofts .
  16. What u have to watch is it's not the amount of stock you have in the section it's when you breed them if you have 8 pair of stock and you have 100% hatch that's 32 birds in the one section that need air?
  17. Sorry to hear this Calum but don't make any snap decisions ,I know we have disgusted all this before ,but me personally think the time has already come that we are to late the RSPB have us beat ,I have said for years stop giving to the charities ,I'm not a heartless person but we are the people who need the help now, tell the tabloids why we are doing this ,remember we're not the only ones that watch this site.
  18. Agree with paddymac if they are kept in .if you feed them the same as the stock that are feeding young then I take it you will be feeding a high protein mix ,stock birds will pile the weight on ,I would give them 50% barley and 50% economy and a measured amount, MO.
  19. There are 2 or 3 pair at my back door but don't bother my birds to much ( their to slow my birds mob them ) can't do any harm to any of the bops as over the back from me is a sanctuary and the eyes are every where.twitchers .

The RSBP are a joke ,a number of years ago I got a card through the door from them asking if anyone in this area had seen any long tail tits and would we fill in the card to report them as they are finding that the population has all but gone.So to rectify this they have introduced a pair of goss hawks felking anisis they have the IQ of a pot noodle.

I had it from a good source that the RSPB released a pair of goss hawks in 2011 at the site of the perchy pond in Lanarkshire that year I lost 7 birds before the racing started saw a couple of attacks take place but to far away to say what they we're.I believe this year will be one of the worst as we have not had a hard enough winter to kill some of them of.
  25. Very good Tammy I've had sleep apnea for about 2years ,it can also affect your vital organs if not treated ,it can also run in a family. .Im on a CPAP machine and I feel the difference of night and day now .so if you have any of the symptoms get it checked it don't hurt.
