I believe that it's the same as footballers there's fitness and there's match fitness ,I think you need at least Half a dozen short tosses for the first race after that as racing progresses twice a week up to 200 miles Then after that it long tosses .OMO.
If the sunlight can penetrate I think it's a big plus ,sunlight is the best disinfectant you can get. You haven't said what you have decided to fly(widowhood ECT) .?
1st it's up to you what you use but you should have a closed up loft for widowhood I have polecarb obscure 2nd make the rest area for hens as uncomfortable as possible I use saddle perches boxes will encourage them To pair a defo no no 3rd same again I would have nothing but perches no boxes unless you want them to pair up your choice . Hope this helps.
Owen I don't disagree with what you says .the system you explained is exactly the way I do mine ,and as I said I'm sure that doctors and vets don't take a dose from a bottle and throw the rest in the bin.
Maybe be a silly question but is there someone close to you races pigeons or how close is the nearest fancier, If it is the same as the SHU they are obliged to find you a club that can take you.are you a member of the RPRA.?
Hi Stu welcome to the site ,ask as many questions as you like ,you will get a lot of conflicting answers But take out of them what u feel is right ,the main thing about pigeons and pigeon racing is keep it simple. Good luck mate .
