Tony, the pigeon was called DETERMINATION. To me it sounds if it was raced by someone over New Eltham way as they are racing 512 miles. It is an 01 pigeon, and owned by Warren Foster did he ever race? Isn't research also asking questions to find an answer, my friend. STB, I think you might have hit the nail on the head with the variations with it being 1st federation I expect it to be the only bird on the day

It would be interesting to find out what year this bird was 2nd and who raced it.

Very much doubt it on this case Whitty the LNRC radius isn't as big as the nationals like the BICC, NFC, BBC. But as you say I maybe wrong, but the said bird whoever was racing would be a long flyer looking at his distance.

I saw something very interesting on an other site with a pigeon up for auction. What caught my eye was in it's heritage it had a 2nd LNRC Thurso. The LNRC is the combine I race with so it caught my attention I look at these sites but I am not in the Market for buying. Anyhoo what raised my questions even further the bird is stated to be the only bird home on the day, how can this be if it ended up in 2nd place? It just doesn't add up. The seller of this bird isn't to blame as they bought it of a stud. What I will say is if your in the Market for buying, DO plenty of research on the fancier or family of birds you wish to bring in, meaning check the mans results and see if others are winning with his pigeons. DO look the man in the eye and if you feel you cannot trust him walk away. And what I have noticed over the years the exceptional fanciers do not need to advertise, there advertisement is there results.

  17. I lost a very good pigeon a few years back he was bred by Peter Rowland of Marlow, he took many cards but his best performances was 1st club 3rd federation 4th Open London North Road Combine Berwick, as a yearling, as a two year old he came out and won 1st Club, 1st Federation Peterborough. As I said he took many other cards apart from these two wins, and he also bred a pigeon called two face who was also a good pigeon but terrible trapper. As a three year old 2 weeks before the season started PJ was really on song, we let the birds out from around the loft and he was never to be seen again. All I can imagine is where my birds go on the run there is a gauntlet of wires, along river road so I can only put it down to that. Andy Burgess had a grandchild of PJ at one time and I believe it broke his Novice Status,

  19. When's closing date?
  20. If it was just swollen eye Use Chloramphenical Eye drops you get from the chemist it will be gone in 5 days. However to me it sounds as if you a chronic respiratory infection with one eye colds and stained wattles, it would be a case of an antibiotic treatment of 3-7 days using either a doxycycline, Tylan or a spiramycin treatmeant. Whenever treating for respiratory I suggest clearing the head with either nazaline or slipsonal, before, and removing all grits and minerals, I would also suggest using either bottled water or boiled water when prepping this medication. Or you could give them full access to an aviary 24/7 it will take longer to clear but it will clear on it's own accord and chances of it coming back as soon as put back in the loft.
