  1. Today have to sadly mention the passing of a friend, an East London and Custom House Legend, and past LNRC winner. Very sad to say that Mick passed away this morning, many will know Mick as Busby, and he also trained people's pigeons when he was racing from all over London. Mick was a great all round racer on his day but his 1st Open LNRC Thurso, and again at the time when he was 2nd Open LNRC Thurso will always stick in our minds on two equally tough days with very very few home. Mick left the sport about 5 years ago due to health reasons however people who obtained his pigeons are still winning with them today, and will do in the future. Rest in peace old friend.
  2. Anyone having trouble loggin in?
  3. Blackpool will have a selection of fancy birds for sale I'm lead to believe modenas are great droppers very rarey see ca tails come up for sale
  4. I should have stated my opinion of what I think is inbreeding, which would be Parent to child, or Full siblings. Line breeding in my opinion would be Uncle to Neice, Aunt to Nephew, half siblings, And cousins
  5. Owen, it's something that I can never get the grasp, the difference between line breeding and inbreeding, would you have a simple explanation?
  6. I have a 13yr old White fantail x nun hen, we owe her a lot. The first few young birds the birds should come up in a drove and you need to pull them out of the bunch as young birds will stay up there for the ride. Generally East London pigeons if you haven't pulled them out with the use of the dropper the birds will hit the Thames and come back, by this time from 73 miles and 114 miles you have lost the race. My young birds are trained to trap and anyone that's been to the loft will tell you the same, but it does help when the see from a distance another bird entering the loft just my opinion. But we race to open doors.
  7. I should have mentioned we do not race old hens which allows us to do this process.
  8. If he's topped the federation and a multiple scorer and so is his siblings, I'd personally breed around this cock. I'd pair him to the absolute best if you say you have three stock hens that have bred fed winners in my opinion he'd go with them. However if you haven't got what you feel is equal quality in your race team, you will have to weigh up the odds as there's no quareentee he will be a breeder of quality birds, and you cannot burn the candle at both ends. I can only state what we do hear and it's using this process, we like fast maturing young birds. We house 10 pairs of Stock cocks and only actual 4 stock hens, we take the best young hens each year from our young bird team and they are paired to our Best Stock cocks. Consequently we like to pair Uncle to Neice we find this pairing successful. But we also house two families of birds here the Frank Taskers and the Gevaert Van Schoorise. So we also like crossings. Interestingly both families way back in the line go back to the same family of birds the Andre Diereck birds. But Franks family of birds are a series of crossings.

    Shadow

M & D Evans Shadow line, we all know an unbelievable amount of winners has come from it. Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be an increased amount of children from this great cock, on the Market as of late? We had a Grandson, which we Bought of Henry Gonsalves entire Clearance he left us with some good winners against the wind. Have you had any from this line, how successful were they for you?

    Eggs

Chinese Box of Barley turned twice daily Bill, I've done it upto 10 days as long as they haven't been incubated. If been incubated and have foster parents to go, get the Tupperware bang the barley in the microwave for one minute so it's just warm, place eggs, and transfer when you get to your loft make sure the Tupperware lids on to retain the heat, works extremely well
  15. I like a good team of Lesbians worked well for us in the past.
