Snowy, my views over the years have changed, but not in the quick time your suggesting, maybe the lofts and fanciers you have visited are just not genuine. Pigeon fliers pigeon liars comes to mind. The book maybe old, but pigeons are pigeons andthere make up now is the same as then.

JAM, it is a very good book, to gather the basics, and you would defiantly win on the system. But like everything things are constantly changing, I learnt more from fanciers over the phone and loft visits then I ever did from reading books and videos.

Snowy believe me, over the years we have tried a lot of systems, what worked the best? One we made up our selfs. An old fancier said to me many years ago "Do your own thing and stick to it, if it isn't daft they will come right" the worse thing you can do is chopping and changing your system, just because your behind, routine = form, form= routine

    Pigeon Studs

John, your pigeons race well for yourself, and for other people. I know Gordon Thorpe of East London is having very good success the last two season with young birds purchased from you directly
  10. Beautiful morning in London, blowing a WSW wind

    Pigeon Studs

Why buy off studs? I'd only buy off people who put there neck on the line, week in week out, at doing what I expect the progeny to do which is race.

  15. Only in tail winds and very good weather. I've had some memorable traps when birds have been up like dots. I've noticed they always are on the line when this happens for us the line we want our birds to come is due north west. But we are lucky enough there's two of us and we look in different directions
  16. Well done Clive!
  17. Archie guessing she's a non fancier it might be best to get back to her and a member of the site locally might b able to retrieve the bird from her?
  18. JAM I'm not convinced it is YBS there catching the 2nd and 3rd time round.
  19. Tony, been advertised in the BHW for as long as I can remember, looks much like brown sugar, you could in affect use nazaline both are used for the same purpose, but slipsanol in my opinion is less harsh on the pigeon, but still as effective
  20. Id say it's all dependent on results if there not performing as expected but look pictures I'd be more inclined to say there is an under lying problem and the thick eyes would have been an indication of it.
  21. Well done! Would the winner be a Gevaert Van Schoorise?
  22. I believe it's what the Belgians call Thick heads
  23. Got to send a congratulations back your way as Tony took first 3 in his club, well done!!
  24. I'm sorry Mark, I have to disagree with you, I have been to lofts racing 6 birds in a 6 x 4 with this problem, and believe me anyone that knows the guys results at sprinting he is up there with some of the best. His loft is comfortable and defiantly not over crowded. I have had this problem this year and last year but we've found the day after Slipsanol it has gone. I believe it is a respiratory ailment that's been knocking about for the last 3 years. There's a lot of it in the baskets at marking but when you point it out to fanciers they can't seem to see it.
  25. Have to agree the decision for East London, County and your federation the West Essex, everyone I spoke to have had very good returns all within a short period after timing, very good race and very good returns with the majority 100%
