I ve started tossing them in single and twos . I think the perigine can spot the batch easier than when they are on there own or just two it might gives the doos the upper hand

thanks for the advise guys . looks like the shutting him in the basket has done the trick he,s not been bothering the yearling today . and i was thinking the same about the motavation , our first race is next week so the yearling cock will be in old cocks box with old cocks hen .

This week we have had a widow cock fighting with another cock . the cock in question is a 3 year old he has started going into a yearlings box and made a wright mess of him . Is there any way of stopping him ? we have been putting him in a basket as soon as he trys to go in to the yearlings box . Week before racing ( ALL WE NEED EH )

think we have had our first sparrow attack yesterday . one of the widows are missing and there was a puff of feathers in the middle of the garden . hope this is nt the start of them bothering the racers . they almost killed all my white fantails begining of 2010

A fancier that i had given young birds from 2009 and 2010 decided to pack up so i asked for him to keep them and i would take them back to my place . We are about 10 miles from his loft and north . There was three birds 2 cocks 1 hen one yearling and 2 two year olds all the birds have been raced the yearling went the full y/bird program . I think i got them end off jan ,so paired them up and got them settled into the loft . They are both sitting big youngsters ,so today i decided to let out the cocks with the widows thinking that they would disapear straight away, well i was plesently surprized tonight when i got home that they were still around the yearling came in with the widows and while i was feeding the birds after they were all in the other one landed on the loft and came in too . What a RESULT

we did well last season with our widow cocks so we have joined the national this year and hopfully clock in from some of them we are the furthest flying on the east coast. I think its section e. So it will be hard to compete but we ll have a go like they say if your not in you cana win it . did nt try out the hens till the come back races last year so we are going to try out round about and hope to get some hens across the water . the ybirds did nt fly as well as we hoped they were all on the darkness so this year we are going to have two teams one with 20 on the darkness and the rest ( about 30 ) on natural to see how they go . ROLL ON THE RACEING

-
