  6. angus fed is at ripon . and we re hoping for a race .4 races in and it s only the 4 th heed wind this season 189 miles to us nae 58ml training toss
  7. i think it has to be perigrines ,in my opinion they are all feeding young now and know that there will be rich picking on sat and sundays . the coasts are over populated with them . We have been lucky this year so far but i m sure that we will lose some of our team to the hawks . last year we had about 5 to 6 bird with lucky escapes returning with half tails and wings out

  18. noticed one off my yearling hens has had her end flight damaged .looks like its happened when it was just through the wing , she was on the darkness last year and the last flights were thrown start off dec . she has a stump left on the end off the wing .will this affect her ? I ve heard off fanciers pulling out the damaged flights to get them to come back in . Is this a good idea ?

  21. noticed this year for some strange reason our widows are fighting with each other . mostly the 2 and 3 year olds is this normal ? and will they settle down after they are paired up . had the same last year but only with one cock , but this year there is about 4 to 5 of them . Every time i go into the loft lately there is a new cock covered in blood . any suggestions ?

    Bops

Thought i would let the birds out today because it was a nice day , just the usual when they have nt been out for some time, they did nt want to come in well 4 off them did nt . Went down the garden to try and get them in and notice there was only 3 had just finished telling my father one was missing when it appeared out of nowhere flying so fast it almost knocking a hole in the loft side , when we looked up here was a perigine *loody thing this is only the second time i have seen them at our loft .The guy about 5 doors down from keeps tumblers which were out at the same time it had a go at them aswell with no success HOPE THIS IS NT A SIGN OF THE TIMES TO COME . when i got our bird in he has some tail feathers missing so it looks like he had a lucky escape and he skint his leg when he smashed into the loft he lives to fight another day .
  23. no 7 for me it looks quality
  24. we fly down the east and i can say the losses i have had in last few years is terrible almost cleaned out( young birds only )the old birds have returned ok . i can t see any reason not to try down the west again . we raced west coast back when we first started up in the 80 s stafford , cheltenham , (dorchester not sure how west this race point was ) that was our three longest inland races then sartilly .Why were all these races stopped ?.DID THE FANCIERS ON THE EAST NOT WIN BACK THEN ? it seems every year the race point are getting further further east . like gareth says if it bops we are worryed about they are every where and must do every thing to clear the flight paths for our birds
