If we are serious about being more professional then IMO we must get a meteorologist to be sole advisor/collator and let him find his weather contacts, One inland nat must go and combine racing with feds helping each other convoy at least until the race before the coast is a must. We are all racing east now bar a couple of feds I think so that is poss! I also think that the gold cup could afford to be a week or two later but weather is fickle bassa!!!!

What can change Gareth? Race line? Wots yer ideas for change? Would you support a combine situation for one inland nat then a later Gold cup? What about a Clermont/Ypres before the Gold Cup? a return to the old days? What about a dead centre race point for Gold Cup? Could the Weather info be better collated by a scientific, unattached, profesional? What would this cost? Wouyld they put their heads on the line with sole control of libs? How do we gather weather info at the present? Can it be improved? Loads of questions and variables!!!!

Wot is it then fellas???? Is it the fog or the westerly position of Messac??? There are two threads running on here where a push for change of direction and races from Ypres and Liege on one and weather and controlling on this yin! If the weather was as bad as Rene says then it must have been info problems as NOBODY would want tae let them up in fog!!!!! What possible gratification/pressure could make ANY controller let them up? Other views suggest that the birds had never been on the west side and that somehow got them in a muddle??? I canny believe this, no way, Solway raced west for years and sent to easterly nats( yearlings included)! So I am gan tae plump wae fog and bad info/comms! Was the fog very patchy? Must have been if some seen it and some didny but on the other hand how did it result in MASSIVE losses wae nae stragglers? Did they all hit a fog bank except the low percentage that got thru? All very confusing! as has been said Rennes etc the same as Messac? Riems etc? Never a stinker? It semms very peculiar that the the line of flight has moved so dramatically from west to east? It is a very big switch in distance(west to east) from rennes etc to reims and belgium? I am really no fussed wot direction we go from but will not accept that Messac as a racepoint was the main cause of trouble! It is going the way of east versus west in scotland and I dont think that its very healthy IMO! Is there a compromise? Transporters are sumthin I aint got enuff info on but I am havin an educated guess that they are better than the ones used in the 70s? Was racin so tragic then? MMMMM!

I got nowt along wae most of my club, ecclefechan, 1 bird timed on second day at 12.01!!!!!!!! Well done to John Little on his tiner the same hen that was 2nd open Marlborough. Its a disaster for the members but we will carry on although a couple of years in the wilderness is now on the cards? Distance racin is hard because when you get a stinker frae the distance then it hurts yer breeding/racing team as doubts come in about both!!! Lets hope that we get some good racin from the nats soon and that confidence can can come again? Race points from anywhere can have bad races thats a fact and blamin Solway fanciers for wanting a traditional line of flight is nonsense IMO! Maybe we should have a split program East/West to further destroy the Nationals???????????????????????????? Maybe pigeon racing is FOOKED already and we should just race wae clubs and get the numbers up regardless of quality??????????????????????????? I THINK NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets not give up on nat racin in Scotland cos of a bad race or two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no grizzles in the loft but are probs there somewhere in ped! Natural nesting, especially when hefting for certain race/nest conditions, hurrys the wing moult up!

I get loads of these markings in my family of Kirkpatricks most noticeable in the Blues. No much wrong way any wiing you show there IMO! I take it yer a natural flier?
