  1. Had some bother here around three weeks ago, but it has settled down again.
  2. I use it and find it very intuitive. Any time I rarely hit difficulties Jim gives super service and talks me through the problem.
  3. Welcome to the site.
  4. Good morning all.
  5. I am as confident about race security as anybody can be with regards to the SNRPC, but all the write up in pigeon press etc does not fill me with confidence in regards of the other Scottish National Club. What causes more alarm is that they seem to be attempting to use a rule incorrectly to meet their own ends. The only reason that I could see for the said rule is that it would be too close to the date of the AGM and would therefore make an EGM unwarranted because the matter could be dealt with at the AGM. In this case the AGM has taken place, the matter was deemed out of order by the chairman and the members called an EGM which must be allowed. I can see this going to the SHU to be sorted.
  6. I joined the SNRPC this year and would have joined the SNFC as well, but with all the bad publicity I think I am better off waiting to find what the outcome will be. Before starting racing my impression was that the National was the SNFC, then I discovered there had been a schism. I knew there were bad feelings about it and was extremely wary about the whole matter. Having relaxed to the point of becoming interested in National racing, this has thrown a spanner in the works. I think Scotland should only have one National because we are too small a country to warrant the mini Nationals and Specialist Clubs that England has, but I now think it is a fortunate thing that we do have two Nationals because one of our National Clubs seems to be committing hari kari.
  7. Happy birthday.
  8. Good morning all.
  9. Happy birthday.
  10. On the advice of a nurse, vaccine should not be used direct from the fridge because the change of temperature when injected can cause pain. Let it reach room temperature.
  11. Welcome to the site.
  12. Good morning all.
  13. 18th April on the south and 2nd May on the north. North has 11OB and 6YB, south has around the same.
  14. Some eggs appearing now, but I won't let them hatch.
  15. Good morning all.
  16. That is the point I was trying to get at Jam. What would you say would be the true line of flight given the geography. I don't think the shortest race is the most helpful in that respect, so would train for the other three on a line to the left, looking from the loft position out to the race-points. For this type of racing I would think plenty of short trainers out to around 20Km (10 miles), even twice a day or more if they needed it and you had the time.
  17. Good morning all.
  18. Sparko, for a start I am a novice and you have had advice from others far more versed than I am. Ally flies into extremely inhospitable terrain, so his viewpoint is important although it may not be accurate for yourself. Normally line of flight teaches them the quickest route home, but your geography may be lie Ally's and therefore line of flight may not be the best, pigeons do not usually fly over mountains, but fly round them. Glaciers, I presume are like mountains, so your pigeons will not fly over them. Given your map, I would say you show 4 racepoints. The shortest, your pigeons are able to fly direct as they can with the next race, but after that the glacier becomes an obstacle. Looking at points 3 and 4 it would seem to me that point 1 is the most direct. I presume you have more than 4 races during a season, so decide what races you want to excel at and then train to the racepoint that suits, but given what you have shown, forget the 2nd race, train towards the 1st racepoint and they will navigate that way for the two longest races. hope my thoughts give you something to think about without causing more confusion than you may already have.
  19. Lanarkshire Sports Council should run the Safeguarding Courses George, usually 3 hours of an evening. Check their website. If your boxing club is affiliated to them it may even be free.
  20. Good morning all.

I am sure I heard that orange is a colour that pigeons see and enjoy. Go for the orange Alan, especially since Vinny is offering to buy it for you. :D
