  1. Good morning all.
  2. Ooh, you are a one!!! Soooo full of intrigue! :D
  3. Good morning all.
  4. Happy birthday.
  5. I have no idea what these protected beasties look like. They are so rare that they are difficult to see in the wild.
  6. I wouldn't mind one of a Sparrowhawk and Peregrine to have an idea what they look like. What do these things cost?
  7. Good morning all.
  8. A bit off subject, but I have just taken over as a fed sec and have already issued a newsletter to the club secs to keep them and, through them, their members informed of progress. Now I have all the members details the next newsletter will hopefully be sent direct. Cost will be the only preclusion for this, so it may happen via the secs again, but if I have enough email addresses, then that method is extremely cost effective. I also hope to be given permission for a FB group to use this means for communication, albeit without the chat, just the Committee and secs allowed to post, this to keep the members informed.
  9. Not picking on you, but this is the reason why these things happen. If you are correct, the vast majority were not there. This means the minority rule and govern the club. From that minority, it seems the majority have supported fanciers who have let the membership down. If that is the case, this meeting is needed to clear the air and sort the problem. This apathy is affecting every club and every federation from what I can gather. No detriment to those that do attend, at least they give their time to run the organisations.
  10. I have a Benzing G2 and find it really easy to work, very intuitive. Backup from Jim Savage is second to none. At one club I plug into the Taurus system and at the other into the Unikon system. I have also used Bricon at central marking.
  11. As Stuart says, your starting point is to check which system or systems your club uses. Next check whether they are compatible with other systems via the universal port. Once you know this, you either buy the system or one of the systems used by your club or you buy the system of your choice and a universal cable for it. If you use a different system from your club the clock setters then have to learn how to operate it as well, so check they would do this. You should learn how to work your own system and, to help the club, do your best to learn all systems in use by its members, just as they should be doing the same. It is all about helping each other.
  12. Since Vinny posed his question, we discover the nub of the problem. I didn't find any malice in Vinnie's question, but immediately negative remarks were posted regarding the SNRPC. It is unknown to me what the history is regarding the split, albeit I was very aware on entering the hobby that it was a touchy subject. I am hearing about letters not being sent when the membership directed that they should be sent. I am hearing about Executive decisions being taken outwith Committee with no notification to Committee. This is tantamount to dictatorship. Most dictators wish to suit their own ends and all the negativety I have heard regarding the SNFC has come from SNFC members. Will this once great club ever return? It seems to parallel with the Rangers Football Club saga where the supporters are unhappy about the board which is seemingly destroying the club and selling all the assets whilst they are powerless to intervene. SNFC assets - the very fact that it is the national Club. Sold over whatever reasons and now there are two "National" Clubs, neither of which are truly National now. A Special General Meeting would allow a "clear the air" and perhaps an opportunity to progress, allowing the Club to return to its former place as the "National" Club. Remember, none of the petty legislative back-fights because someone was unhappy with a democratic decision which went against them. Sort it now, sort it correctly, sort it once and forever. Will this once great club ever return?
  13. Happy birthday.
  14. Good morning all.
  15. Who was sitting at your table and drinking out of glasses? How long did it take you to down your jug? :D
  16. Good morning all.
  17. View up to the loft this morning.
  18. Well done.
  19. About 100mm, or 4" for the oldies, of snow lying here and it is like fog outside whilst the snow continues to fall. Brrrr.
  20. Good morning all.
  21. Speaking from the outside, the whole situation stinks. According to Gareth's statement the SNFC Committee employed SHU disciplined members to convoy their pigeons. This is not a good thing to do. Similarly when he raised the matter it appears he has been chastised. Not good. Security of pigeons brought into disrepute. Not good. Race panniers opened at race site. Not good. Can't remember any more, but this is certainly enough. I am not ready for National racing at this stage, but if I was it would not be with an organisation with so many clouds hanging over them. This needs cleared up.
