Well done all.

Heard commentators remarking about their pitch surface. They play to suit their park and others will require to adapt their game to suit. More and more of these surfaces are being used and apparently they are all made to different standards.

I noticed that the info on Colombovac has changed. They no longer recommend jagging the youngsters, then following up with a booster after 6 weeks. Just the one jag is the recommendation. Perhaps a change to the vaccine strength.

Had a good day today. 3 or 4 Kopperbergs, sweet and tasty, now relaxing with a nice Malt. Lots of chocolate and whisky to keep me going for quite some time. The wife made a lovely meal and we had a good get together with the kids and grandkids. Thanks for the kind wishes everyone.

When I joined my club, they opened the boundaries to get me in. Nobody should be refused unless there are real proven reasons to doubt their integrity.

My club has joined the Saltire Awards. The kids earn hours for volunteering in the club. This will look good on their CV's in later life. Hopefully they will be bitten by the bug and come back to pigeons after that usual period where they all drift away. 1 Give them an interest in the pigeons from as early an age as possible. Accept we will lose them as teenagers, so look to the next age bracket. People of 50 have usually some spare money and time and it is them we should be targeting. 2 Make the clubs inviting to others. Regain old values. Help people start up by giving them pigeons, etc. Get to know them before bantering. Keep the banter friendly and never let it become personal. Participants are dwindling, BOP are increasing. This signifies a demise, however when racing started it was not as popular from when in its heyday, so we will keep at it and we shall have to evolve with the times and situations in which we find ourselves placed.

Thanks all. The family are coming over for the monthly Sunday dinner. I've been told I don't need to drive, so I'm allowed alcohol during and after dinner. The wife has given me some money so I can buy a hammer drill / chisel. Work has come to a standstill because my last one has broken. The wee ones have made me a sweet holder from a toilet roll tube and filled it with sweets. Soon the rest will arrive. The wife is starting to prepare a special Sunday dinner.

I'm not a member, so wouldn't vote, but I think they should both be dropped. Federations should form Combines to go to these places. This would teach pigeons to return to their own general area and would be an ideal step before going to Nationals when they really have to think. The National was set up for the distance. The one drawback is that these races will be money makers, so if they are dropped, be prepared to pay more for overseas racing.
