    Grasshopper

You'll have to borrow one Andy (you have to have one to claim the prize)
  4. Who is this man behind the eyeballs? I'm sure he'll offer you a prize if you guess
  5. I'll try and take a few pics on 'Tony's Tossers' and put them up later.
  6. I aim for amals & combines up to 300 miles with my team of w/hood cocks (20), my naturals (6 pair) pick up the baton for the longer races. The early races (April/May) can compromise my aims as we often encounter cold n/easterly winds early doors so these races I play by ear. I have my w/hood cocks sitting 8 days for the first race as I don't want form to hit to early.
  7. check the pair and their offspring to see if they have a white toenail/s, pied doesn't always come out on the plumage.

    Tis A Sad Day

have decided that my loft jacket (or rag as my wife calls it) which has been with me for many a year has had its day. Think I'll have it framed just to pi$$ her off
  10. ok. Don't just chuck them, first hold the eggs up to a light.......... you need to learn to see if the eggs have chicks in or are clear (unfertilised). Eggs that are clear will have a translucent appearance, the ones with chicks in will look solid. As they've been sitting for 24 days they're either dead in the shell or clear. One at a time hold them up to a light and decide if they are clear or not, then break the egg to find out whats inside. This will learn you what to look for in the future, you'll be able to tell if the eggs are any good after they've been sitting for 10 days. Why they haven't hatched I cant say.
  11. did you write down when the pairs laid their first egg?

    A lemon for me pancakes.
  18. Personally I would, you would also be able to observe better from the outside looking through the aviary wire into the nestboxes
  19. My concern would be by having nestboxes on the side wall pigeons might struggle flying up to the top boxes.
  20. A couple of glugs of malt vinegar in their bath water on a regular basis will rid pigeons of lice.
  21. Underdogs 1 dogs dangleys 0 get in there!
  22. I'll look forward to having a read, as you say one of the top lofts not only in London but the south east.
  23. You like me have found out that beans are not to be sniffed at, contrary to what others might have you believe. Good quality beans are hard to get locally and the corn shop wants £18 a bag which I refuse to pay when you see them advertised up country for half that amount. I have just purchased a few bags of a bean/maple/tare mix which I'm going to feed my team of naturals and see how it goes, am not a fan of maples though it has to be said.
  24. I know of fanciers who feed super diet at the front end of the week. I did so myself a few years back in the belief that its a more varied and high value mix which in turn would be more beneficial. I later learnt the value of barley and kicked the diet into touch.
