  5. One thing you can watch out for which is quite difficult to explain but once you've seen it you'll never forget is a pigeon not able to use one wing to its full potential. In flight one wing will be fully extended on the downward motion whilst the other doesn't fully complete this action giving the expression the wing is stiff. This can also be noticed inside the loft when a pigeon fly's up to its box or perch, to the trained ear you can even hear the pigeon putting in extra effort to get airborne.

  8. Go along with what Wiley suggests, he's very successful the way he races. Best of luck.
  9. Billy, whats the right thing to do and what he wants to do could be two different things. I'm asking what does he think is the right thing to do! One choice could set him back a year the other 5 years plus or more. Am more of an experienced fancier than a top one Billy
  10. What do you think is the right thing to do?

  16. The right thinker or the right excuse maker! You could argue letting go in one lib and getting hit by a hawk could result in a smash, having more than one lib could mean subsequent libs don't get hit = better returns overall. Weather plays a part one way or other in races as it is.
  17. Liberate in sections in races up to 250 miles, collate the highest velocities for an overall result. Could reduce young bird losses too.
  18. I believe you wont go wrong following this advice. This would free up a section allowing you to put young birds into. Young birds are the future of your loft, train and race these then come the following year you will have yearlings that are mature enough to breed from and experienced enough to race.
  19. Can you expand on more depth than width? A drawing or photo may help
  20. Enjoy the day folks.
  21. The smaller the section the more tamer & calmer they'll be. IMO 6x5 sections for young birds are ideal.
  22. He'll more than likely try and repackage the xmas card and sell it on.
