I do remember reading that the amount of eggs a hen can lay throughout her life is predetermined. Once the hen has used up all her ovums she may carry on laying but these eggs can never be filled.

I dont think there's anything to be gained by letting them out everyday during winter. Mine go out once a week for a bath.

I think its a fair way to classify a pigeons performance over a series of races.

Carol is it along the same lines as this......... A formula is used to give the birds a coefficient number, this is formulated by multiplying the position taken in the race by 1,000, this is then divided by the number of birds competing in the race. Example; 3rd place in a race with 3978 birds competing is worked out as follows; 3 X 1,000 = 3,000 , divided by the birds in the race 3,978 = .754. This pigeon would have a coefficient of .754 for that one race. Each coefficient for each qualifying race is then added together to give an overall figure. Back to the 'blowing them up' Vic....... I'll take a stab at it and say that 75% of it is getting the pigeon into condition first then by the correct feeding towards the later half of the week gets them pumped up! Yea or nay? If nay can you elaborate.
