Yes Jimmy there's a lot of variables in any race that we have no control over. I guess what I'm trying to say is a good test of a pigeons stamina and speed, a distance where a pigeon can show its class.

In your mind what would you say is the ideal distance for a true pigeon race?

Oldbirds W/H cocks up to 300 mile, small team of naturals for races 2+ days in the basket. Darkness for y/birds, play it by ear how I race these.

Dont give mine electrolytes after a race, from what I understand it does them no good.

Pair up w/h anytime after Blackpool, as long as the birds are right, I'm right and the weathers right. Naturals will be paired up in March, again no fixed date.

Hi JohnT, Could you post another pic of the clock looking down on it with the drum (thimble holders) removed. I would say at a guess that 5 & 6 levers are to stop the paper roll from riding up.
