  5. The clubs are 'the members' of the fed. There may be a fee that the clubs have to pay to the fed to be a member, just as I have to pay a fee to my club to be a member. If the club doesn't resign before the AGM the club has to pay it's club membership fee for the forthcoming year, if the club has no members this fee is still due. This is the way I understand it but could be wrong.
  6. The way I see it Fifer is that clubs are members of a fed not individuals. The club then submits a list of their members that wish to compete in the said fed for the coming season. If for example the club has its AGM after the feds AGM and vote to fly in another fed the club remains a member of the fed but not the club members. :-/

  20. Even though my father still has pigeons they haven't seen the inside of a basket for 10-15 years now. He has two families, one he got from an old Polish bloke that used to live in East London ( wouldn't even attempt to try and spell his name ) the other family he has are Boykens (spelling?). I think its the later that carry the black tongues (also some of these carry feather legs), not 100% on that though.
  21. I started with pigeons in 1988 at the age of 30. My father got involved with them some 10 years earlier after I had left home. I used to pop round there now and again on Saturdays to see them come home, never dreamt that I would end up keeping them myself. Wasn't till a few years later when having a couple of kids, working all the overtime I could I felt I needed a hobby to help me chill out some, decided to keep a few pair of pigeons and as Forest Gump said 'And that was that'
  22. My father has pigeons that have black tips to their tongues which is a trait of the family, I've heard it said that it can also be a sign of respiratory. I'm more inclined to believe its a throwback from somewhere down the line, I know a successful fancier that puts a high regard on pigeons especially hens that carry this trait. Have you come across this trait in any of your pigeons?
  23. Your all doing a great job
