  1. Getting a bit more windy.....no great rain..... yet !!
  2. This would be my thought as well Ian......maybe make crate itself from materials that would let you 'power hose' them regularly.
  3. Got a bit windy here in Donaghcloney, some ' mizzly rain ' Paul PS. You'll probably have to Google Maps 'Donaghcloney' to see where we are !! ;D ;D
  4. Great stuff.......and continued success with your business. As Ulsterman eludes to, I would reckon a fair amount of business to be done in Ireland, North & South...although the paperwork may be a bit daunting !! However, still worth looking into, and again ( especially in these trying times ) best wishes to all at Pigeon Force. Sincerely Paul

    SAND/LIME

Not 100% sure, but it may go way back to when lime could have been quick-lime, which was used (amongst other things) to speed up decomposition. As suggested previously, it was probably used to kill off anything nasty in the droppings. I would use the loft white. After scraping I give a spray of Vanodine & Jeyes, then sprinkle loft white, give it a good brush over, then remove excess loft white.
  7. I'm intrigued.....why so ?
  8. Sorry, point of information...George Fabry who lives in Liege to-day, is a son of the 'original' George Fabry, and younger brother to Victor !!
  9. When I had the show racers here, I was very, very proud of my hens, and practically guarded them with my lfe !!
  10. Nice question !! In earlier years an old fancier friend told me to keep an eye on my hens,as he believed that was where a lofts' strength was.....so that's where my choice would lie.
  11. Brilliant effort, looks really well....congrats on a 1st class job !!

Don't get me wrong Peter, I can use words that would make your eyes water !! What I'm saying is they should be curtailed on open forums, so no offence may be taken and possibly drive people away from getting involved.

She doesn't have to spell it out . So you think it's quite acceptable to swear on this open forum (asterix or no) ? Why not use acceptable language, and then no-one will be offended.

Are you proud to use language like that ? Any thoughts about the kid that may not know ?

Have to agree with this thought. A lot of the time on PB a very good thread gets hi-jacked and can sink to quite desperate levels. I have seen swear words used, although the person placing the post has put in a few asterix so it's not as blatant looking. To an outsider, and even members of this forum who don't know individual fanciers , it can appear a bit scary at times, when you read posts on some threads. This is an open forum, and is easily accessed on a global basis. It is not biased to age, gender, religion, colour nor creed. Young people especially are to be protected, and some things posted on here are not a great advertisement for adult life, nor pigeon racing in general. Always remember a multi- faceted audience is watching !!

Is this not your answer ?
  18. I think , Chrisss, with your 'post' count in excess of 3,000, we don't want to lose a contributor like yourself. Don't leave the forum........just take a bit of a break !!
  19. Buttermilk......shake well before use !!
  20. Does anyone know if there are any George Fabry pigeons in the UK, and who has them ?

    J.J Horn

Agreed, brilliant info. and credit to Alan Wheeldon who wrote it originally.
  22. Is this for bio-security reasons ?
  23. As a matter of habit, do you employ any day to day bio-security measures, more especially when visiting fanciers are present at your lofts and handling your birds ?
  24. Have sent you a PM on this Cheers Paul
