  1. Hi Guys, Sets of Pippo boxes, made from 18mm Ply with ply backing with mahogany front trim. 48" high , 23 1/2" wide and 12" deep. Collection only and value for money at only £35.00 per set. Thanks for looking and best of luck for the rest of the season folks.
  2. There are a few out of print books which have become quite the collectors item in a very short space of time. I recently saw Alf Bakers book change hands for £65.00, and some weeks previously a copy of the Van Hee book was the guts of £100. Last year Dave Allens' The Widowhood year was selling for £30 - £50......this year you can choose from quite a few copies for £15.00. Prices will fluctuate, but if one of these 'rarer' books comes to the open market, it's end price can be a bit of a shock, but if people are prepared to give big money.........make hay while the sun shines !!

    Wanted

I think that's because it's coming from America, where it would be regarded as even rarer !!

    Wanted

The last couple I have seen were both on e-bay, the latest one sold for £65.00 and the previous was I believe £50.00. I think they're looked upon as scarce, and that is why they command high prices.
  5. Me thinks it's a Waffenamt seal. They were used by Germany when various articles had been inspected and passed for use (usually armaments). I can see a number on same which is either 54 or 504. 54 die was used for 20mm case around 1940/41. 504 was used for electric switch circa 1943 !! The War Museum will be best for confirmation,or if I'm wrong, they should be better suited to inform you.
  6. Thanks guys, sold quite a few.....even got an order from England for some !! (he arranged carriage) Must be doing something right ! Many thanks for your words of encouragement. Cheers guys Paul.
  7. Done mate. Best wishes. Paul.
  8. Thanks Andy, they're all tacked, glued and screwed. Made the old fashioned way.... Not an air-gun stapler in sight !!
  9. Just a quick viewing for those interested. Set of 4 widowhood boxes made from 18mm plywood, with ply backing. Also has 18mm ply kick - panel. Complete with fronts. I think these are pretty good value at £49.00 per set, collected. These are made to order only as storage is an issue. As an act of good faith a deposit is required. Please note, I am in Northern Ireland. Click on pic for close-up.
  10. Basically your answer lies with the fitting of the PVC cladding ! If this is fitted correctly and properly sealed at the joints, OSB will be fine. If the PVC is not correct, there will be an ingress of water which will be trapped between PVC and sheeting and won't be able to dry away. If this were to be the case, it wouldn't matter what sheeting you used, they'll all rot over time, and in between times you'll have the inherant damp problems. OMO.
  11. Thank you kindly, much appreciated.
  12. Slim chance I know, but would anyone have a copy of Pictorial which has Pierre Dordin article they would be prepared to sell. From memory it has photo of Villa Patience on front cover, and was circa 1971. Paul.
  13. Can't knock your basic design at all Johnny, as I came up with the same one last year. The only thing I would ask you to consider is the depth of your landing board. Even if you made the landing board 3ft in depth, this would give you a YB section 5ft deep.....that extra 1ft internally could make life a bit easier. Maybe also consider a clear 'plastic' roof covering over landing board section, to add a bit of protection from inclement weather. OMO
  14. Tony Read is, I believe, a very astute breeder. Over the years he has maintained this family of pigeons to the highest level. I would love to see a team of them flying round to see if that 'hidden' X-factor is still in them.
